Brought this to a wine dinner at Yummy Palace with my wine mates. Theme of the night: Wines that start with A.
Brooding purple in colour with a dusty flint nose. On the palate the dried herbs, crushed spices and minerals were surprising, with some red fruits coupled with lead and tobacco.
Had gotten used to the notion that Malbecs are powerful and big and bold; this style of Malbec certainly caught the dinner party by surprise.

Color: You can almost see through the wine. Nose: Somewhat fruity but really not much going on. Mouth: Very simple wine. It is drinkable. It was much better the next day. Now there are cassis and raspberry flavors. Hence 7 points up.

Color: Transparent. Nose: Not that expressive. Cherries, raspberries, a hint of herbs. Mouth: Quite a light wine and I don't mean it as a negative. But at the end of the day it is a rather simple wine that has a bit subdued aroma of red fruit. Not bad though.

Very attractive nose - fruit and vanilla. Deep, promising colour. Well balanced fruit on the palate and good length. Good with venison. Better next day. Frankly, it looked like a good price on Cunard considering the provenance of the wine (Rothschild and Nicolas Catena) but the wine is much too young to enjoy fully, yet. My rating is just a nod in the direction of what it will become. At present, it needs cellaring for a few years unless you are comfortable committing infanticide!

Spicy as a Malbec, almost like a northern rhone kinda spice. Laid back on the fruit, elegant. Fine. Needs time in the bottle but the stuffing is there.
