At home Friday night - Jill made salmon in partchment with zuchinni and leek. Very good. Wine fine, but not worth the trouble of getting it shipped from Napa.

Tasted December 3, 2006 at home. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Weiss Wein glass. Straw to light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of lychee, grapefruit, pear and honeysuckle. Flavors of apricot, pear and citrus fruits. Crisp acidity with light to medium body. Quite pleasing on the palate. Time in bottle has been kind to this wine. Based on my direct from winery price of $25.00 a bottle I’d say the value here is highly recommended.

Tasted November 4, 2006 at home. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Weiss Wein glass. Straw color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of tropical fruits, lime and lychee that carries through to the palate with perhaps a little grapefruit added. Cleansing acidity with a good presence on the palate. This wine has settled down quite a bit since my last tasting in June and is really starting to hit its’ stride.

Decadent wine for a Sauv. Blanc. Aromas of guava, peach and pear. Tropical fruit flavors of guava, asian pear, lychee fruit and lime fill the mouth with elegance and the well defined acidic backbone, provides for the crisp, yet lingering, finish. A top shelf effort for California Sauvignon Blanc. Easy to see why the winemaker is one of the rising stars of Napa.

Light straw to honey in color...fig, honeydew, kiwi, lemon rind, steel, flint and fleeting hay on the nose...on the palate, more tropical fruit flavors...rich and pure...finishing with a cleansing burst of acidity. Very nice.

Tasted June 17, 2006 at home. 14.4% alcohol. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Weiss Wein glass. Straw color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of tropical fruits, orange zest, an odd component that came across as spicy/nuttiness (don’t ask) with a touch of grapefruit and just a little gooseberry. Flavors of orange, lime, a little grapefruit and some lychee notes. Sharp acidity and quite a bit hotter on the palate as compared to previous efforts. This vintage is a little more lke a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc on the nose but much more ramped up on the palate with more alcohol and “gusto”. It isn’t a bad wine but I much prefer the style and finesse of the 2004 vintage. Drink over the short term. Based on the $25.00 direct from winery price I paid I’d say the value here agreeable, possibly recommended.

Straw color with tropical fruit and perhaps cream on the nose. Somewhat full, rich palate and finishes nicely with a beam of acidity.

Light straw coloring. Nose of pears and grapefruit. Palate is citrus and more pears. Falls a bit short in acidity for me.
