Great QPR. This is not an elegant wine, but it is a perfect wine for Mardi Gras week. This is debaucherous Good fun and drinks well as a pop and pour. It’s “only” 14.1% abv though you might think it more. Nice big round fruit and some cooperage, tobacco and hot summer tar patch. Delicious and unctuous but you may not want to let your snobby oenophillic friends know you enjoyed it so much!

This was delicious ! Decanted for a few hours and it was ready to go by dinner. This was purple ink in the glass, and bursting with dark fruit aromas. Rich and exactly what I was expecting from this cab. A little bit of herbs/spices upon tasting but this was just as close to a stereotypical CA cab as I was hoping. Very smooth and round to me, perhaps due to the other varietals in the blend. Regardless, I liked this one.
Had with beef burgers, and spicier foods and it paired well for me.

Decanted for 2 1/2 hours. Nose is restrained, but wine crosses the pallet silky smooth, well balanced, with a satiny front—palate finish over blackberries, cassis and crushed stone. The air gave this a nice polish, and while flavorful, it isn’t particularly complex. Fine on its own in the pool w friends.
This is my last bottle, but there still a good 2 to 5 years ahead of this, at the very least.

Large juicy wine that needs decanting and air, but the fruit thins out a touch and becomes more balanced at thirty minutes. Only 14.1% abv, and inwouldnhavebthhiight a touch more as there is some heat and effervescence to this wine on the back palate.

Much improved over last bottle. Needed a couple of hours in the decanter to unwind. Serious structure that needed the fruit to blossom to bring it all together. Dark purple fruit with lots of tension on the finish. Age is treating this well.

Bought in SF October 2017 and held in the cellar until now. Lovely! Lots of fruit, benefitted from some air after which other aromas and flavours came out, including some nice cigar box smells. Enjoyed it a lot, but as always with the American wines, is it worth the $50-60 paid for?

Oak and black fruit aromas. Black cherry fruit, licorice and plums flavors. Layered with some cedar and ripe blueberry. Still needs a 2-hour decant before it opens up nicely.

Opened this 2014 last night. Great amount of fruit left, and enough acidity. Slight tannins. Predominantly Cab, but the presence of the other varietals edged this toward a meritage. Mellowed our the profile. Left the remaining half bottle out overnight. Drinking even smoother. Originally had this at a Morton’s in Chicago.

75% C.S. with 25% CF, Syrah, Zin, PS, etc. Very fruit forward right now and sweet with fruit of black currant, boysenberry, and plums. Has a blackberry jam characteristic to it with mocha, graphite, and subtle spice and mineral notes. Smooth tannins, nice finish, good everyday wine.

Decanted twice due to sediment. Deep red color, and hints of mushrooms and cedar. Dark fruits and cherry, but had more forest than fruit. Nicely balance tannins and is full bodied for its young age. You will be rewarded if you have and can be patient

This rustic and integrated wine is more brambly and savory than when I tasted it about a year ago (4/17 - 93 points), but it's still drinking well - and is better than the 2015 at this point in time. Still, the exuberance of the fruit has subsided - and the secondary notes haven't quite integrated - leaving this a lesser wine than I had hoped a year ago.
Ruby red in color and medium in body, the wine has somewhat darker aromas - where before there was black cherry and milk chocolate - the nose now offers boysenberry, cocoa beans, and gravel. Tastes of blackberry, baking chocolate, graphite, and leather, with a thick and tannic finish. Blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 5% Syrah, 5% Zinfandel, 5% Petite Sirah, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec, and 1% Cabernet Franc. 14.1% alcohol.
The mid-palate has filled out, but the fruit has subsided a bit - a welcome development to some, I am sure, but not to me. I tasted this at the same time as the 2015, which was juicy and chunky - moreso even than the 2014 when I tasted it after this much time in bottle. I thought I might buy more of this wine, but I doubt I will - it's a little too rustic and prickly, no matter how awesome the winemaker is (and Benoit is, without a doubt, awesome).
I tasted this on the same night as ACME Fine Wine's private label, "Inside Job," which destroyed this wine (and the 2015 Teeter Totter as well). Even though the Inside Job has a decent amount of Petit Sirah and Cab Franc, the Cabernet offered far more polish and ripeness, which helped tamed the wildness of the other varietals. The Teeter Totters rode like a Chevy, but the Inside Job rode like a Buick. (No one is a Cadillac in this scenario, but the Inside Job was a more polished and silky wine.)

Opened, drank and loved it. Price puts it just north of being a daily drinker. Complete package here from Fait Main in what is to be considered their "second" wine. An overachiever. Loved the red fruit and cherry reduction on the palate, just a real gem, highly recommend
Tasted at 750 Wines. In a lineup of $150-200+ cabs, this was no slouch at all. And obviously a great QPR. Easy to pull the trigger on this guy. Lots of character.
Popped and poured but drank out of a decanter for a couple hours as we were waiting for a 2014 Fait-Main Beckstoffer Las Piedras cab to decant. Purple fruit - blackberry, blueberry, currants, and dark cherry. Smooth mid-palate but the fruit came across a little lighter than expected. Solid finish but not overly long nor deep. Improved a little with time. I believe the Teeter Totter might of shown better by itself - tough competition next to the Fait-Main LPV. 75% cab, 6% merlot, 5% syrah, 5% zinfandel, 5% petite sirah, 2% petit verdot, 1% Malbec, and 1% cab franc.

Rich purple in color. Nice nose. Decanted 3 hours and drank over another 2 hours. Tasted out of the bottle and this definitely needed some air. This was a medium to full bodied wine that has a decent mid palate and longish finish. There are definitely some tannins but they are tolerable. This bottle was not quite as big and rich as the one I had at the winery. Still pretty good. Will wait 4 to 6 months for my next bottle.
A soft and enjoyable red blend that is a lot of fun to drink (even now) - and is a real value in Napa Cabernet. Dark red in color, medium in body, nose of black cherry, milk chocolate, and baking spices. Tastes of blueberry, blackberry, cocoa, and cedar, with a lingering and somewhat chalky finish. Blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 5% Syrah, 5% Zinfandel, 5% Petite Sirah, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec, and 1% Cabernet Franc. 14.1% alcohol.
