  • Youthful. Bright. Fresh best one I have had and just a hoot at a little blinder out in east cleveland. I would considr this vintage better than the 2005 from which I have had a few bottles over the years. classic cedar and tobacco with pure frutis and no overt oak at all In a great place but this bottle is going nowhere at this pace.

  • Well made, very balanced, nuanced wine with an elegant character. Somewhat lean, but still engaging especially with food like the lamb kabobs we had. Young looking translucent medium garnet. Nose is fragrant with floral and earthy notes as well as some tart cranberry and leather. On the palate it is nicely balanced with a little tannin and acid remaining and some bright red fruit like cranberry and plum. Early on a after double decanting it was quite lean on the palate but after breathing for a couple hours it was much more round and soft with a more expressive aftertaste/finish. Great with the lamb!

  • Decanted at 5pm and drunk over the next 5 hours. Medium dark garnet with no signs of age. Youthful nose of earth, a little pepper, menthol and dark fruit. On the palate I get some minerals, raisin, cassis, dark cherry, the menthol and some chocolate. Probably best at around the 3rd hour. Really nice with grilled pork chops.

  • Tasted blind. Clear, garnet in color, with hints of brown, the legs are viscous and there is some sediment. The nose is clean and shows sour cherry, tomato, leafy forest floor and some oak influence. The palate is dry, with medium (+) acidity, tannins and alcohol (14.5%). This wine is medium (+) to full bodied , with medium (+) flavor intensity and length. I would have guessed it to be a younger Chianti Classico, so I was somewhat surprised to see that it was actually an older Taurasi. This is an impressively age-worthy wine. Drink now or through 2020.

  • Dark cherry with volcanic soil overlay. Balanced and not tannic. Still youthful and I'd hold off as long as you can.

  • At Convivio (New York): Deep ruby color. On the nose this comes across with loads of hot stones and a dry herb/spice blend, like a summer mountainside. Medium to full bodied on the palate. I didn't take a note, but this was a very nice wine.

  • Fantastic aromatic profile full of smoke, ash and earth, and a palate adding bright olive and red fruited flavours to the mix of smoky/tarry flavours with bright acids and grainy tannins underneath. Very enjoyable - I need to drink more Aglianico.
