Bit of a forgotten bottle in the cellar. Found it and went for a PnP with no real expectations. No violet intensity here, color is more rust like. Good dark fruits on nose, taste has almost a candy edge to it. No real expectations so the bottle managed to surpass that

The bottle was given to me from family friends about 3 yrs ago. Delicious RRV Pinot, no formal TN but I enjoyed it over 2 nights. Rich black and red fruits, some spice and cola, nice acidity and a medium length finish. Drink now.

This wine is usually either a good or a great QPR; based on this bottle, I'd say the '13 vintage is only on the "good" end of that spectrum. Classic RRV profile -- cherry, cranberry, spicy cola, cinnamon, vanilla. Still has a few tannins to shed. Finish is pretty and detailed but a bit clipped. Might actually be a few years yet before this peaks. Not the best HR they've put out in recent years, but still very nice.

On first opening not much there other than thin, acidic cranberry flavors. After about an hour it deepens and opens up, with RRV plum, cherry, mushroom and forest floor elements dominating. The fruit is not as overpowering as some RRVs, this is nicely balanced with acid. Understated, but very well made.

On opening, I would have thought this was from Oregon. Bright cranberry, tart, spritzy flavors. Absolutley needs some time to settle in, but much better with two hours of air. Then smoky cherry mushroom flavors predominate. Avoids the overblown power of many other RRVs

Good RRV Pinot with cherry, raspberry and pepper. Less oak than the last bottle I had. Good but not great finish. Darker than many pinots. Rather simple wine at this stage as all the fruit is right in front of you.

Retail $42. The eucalyptus is a bit tampered here, but still present, more sour cherry and plenty of gusto. First impression? Balance. The fruit, acidity, earth? All there. The fruit is perhaps more present, but the intrigue? A slight, but only slight, drop-off. At the end? Fantastic. Very Good to Excellent. 89-91 Points.

PNP. Well made and pretty good QPR. Wish it was a tad "bigger" but otherwise very nice. Pair with subtle foods.

Nice red fruit with balanced acidity. May be too much acidity for some.

Nice middle weight Pinot, with sharp acidity to counter cherry and plum notes

Good wine pairing with fish. Decent smooth but a little effervescent up front and tangy. Prefer a little richer but maybe it will age.

nice red fruit, tartness with cranberry and early young raspberry; thought the acid was too pronounced, so it might need to cellar a little while.

Straight laced, simple, easy drinking bright red fruit, tart, and almost effervescent finish. Slightly austere. Good, not great.

Dark for RRV, lovely layers of fruit with some power. Really nice touch of oak/fruit on the finish.
