Slow oxygenated for six hours, still a whiff of decay on the nose, very old, better flavour, redcurrant fruit and it held up well in a decanter for an hour. A wine at the end of its life but still giving some enjoyment.

Drank out of a magnum bottle. The wine was still in a good shape. Soft and silky with hints of fruit, cigar, tabacco and leather. Very classic old bordeaux.

This was actually quite good. It simply needed some time (over an hour) in the decanter/glass. Over that time it grew thicker, richer, more dense, and the fruit came to the front. Quite a surprise, and a reminder to decant even 40 year old wines if their provenance is excellent.

Tasted at The Sampler. Soft. Cedar, cigar boxes. Hint of fruit. Not yet dried out. Old Bordeaux as it should be.

From the Graham Lyons cellar sale. Outstanding quality/provenance. A touch short on the finish, but drinking nicely if not an outstanding wine.
