Last in a case. Pepper, earth and a bit of heat on nose. Palate is ripe with blackberry jam, dates, herbs and a smoky note. Point for dates I love that. Acid and tannin integrated, it's best now after 30 min and will get flabby in years to come I think.

Make that 91+. Perfect BBQ wine, served with BBQ Iberico baby back ribs. Decanted and waited 45 min from a 55 degree cellar. This wine is really hitting its stride -- serve as you would with a zin, but more complex and densely layered than most zins. Chalkboard, light cloves and pepper, sea spray on the nose, along with plenty of rich dark raisiny fruit. It just keeps evolving in the glass, but is wonderfully integrated now, I can't wait to see how this does over the next 12 months. Gorgeous.

In a good place, better than before. Black fruits showing ripe and tasty - dates in particular, juicy and intergrated. Couple years maybe but I'm thinking pretty prime right now.

Probably too early to taste at this point but I wanted to taste as wine access had shipped the wine in hot weather. This is not a pop and pour wine. Dark red and clear in the glass. Dark currant and molasses on the palate. Open for an hour and let the flavor build or wait a year or two for more development.

Last of 8 -- still drinking quite well, and a solid value, but per prior notes seems to have peaked.

Opened for 3 hours. Quite integrated despite the 15.2%abv. Raisiny , tar on the nose.

Quite quaffable given the high abv. Raisiny, well integrated. Open for about an hour in front of consumption. Drank over 2 days.

Fairly balanced and elegant wine with earth and minerals under ripe but restrained fruit. Should age a few more years but delicious now.
