Assorted riesling at D Cuisine (Chicago, IL): Very clean nose, with bright, classic riesling tones. Quite minerally and a bit of lime zest on the nose as well. The palate is really flat though and feels slightly oxidative (not oxidized). Lacking excitement in the acid department too.

Stony Hill Vineyard Tasting (Stony Hill Vineyard St Helena, CA): This is a dry Riesling that was also a very light straw color. The nose provided aromas of white peach, nectarine, and hibiscus. The wine has high acidity and the taste provided flavors of white peach, honey suckle, pear with mineral undertones. This wine will age well. Score 91

I agree with the previous note's mentions of floral and pear - far more than I'm used to in a Riesling. Pretty good balance, but far from German in terms of minerality/salinity; and not quite as full-tilt as Californians can be. A solid effort at this pricepoint from Cali.

Light yellow color. The nose is reluctant right now, but swirling coaxed out some floral notes with a touch of pear. On the palate, this light-bodied wine displays pear, peach, floral notes, and minerals on the finish. This wine has high acidity, but it marries well with the fruit and does not come across as harsh or screechy. Overall, this is a lovely wine that is bashful right now, but I expect more intensity and depth with time. It paired well with Easter Sunday ham, and at 12% alcohol, it is refreshing and enjoyable with food.

maybe an off bottle vs other CT notes, but this was a very simple wine. not much on aromatics. some fruit on the palate. terrible QPR

Really quite nice...Less sweet than most Riesling's so not only refreshing but more sophisticated.
