  • At the winery with Lorenzo: Spices, oak-barrel character with a touch of tobacco, ripe bell pepper, very dry tannins with balsamic notes. Not a fan of the blend, I prefer more Merlot with SG, and a bit too much oak. 1/3 each SG, CS, M

  • Tasted at the winery. This is equal parts Cab/Merlot and Sangiovese, and it sees 14 months on Fr. oak. At this point, the oak dominates the nose. Perhaps if they put this same blend in tonneau for 14 months, the fruit would outstrip all of the oak. Or, maybe that's the point. Either way, it's not my style at all. 14,0% abv. Needs time.
