Started off slightly herbal, faintly green but with nice wilted rose petal, my expectations were not high. After 90 minutes this was a stunning "sneak up on you" village wine, gaining a bit of cherry pit fruit as it knit together. In a great spot right now just gaining secondary character and with barely perceptible tannin.

I should really check my notes before trying another bottle (coravin again). I had completely forgotten doing exactly this one a couple of months ago and my tasting note would be identical! I’m going to open this bottle and leave it for a day and see what that does. The next day this has a curiously medicinal note to it. A curious wine.

Ripe black fruit on the nose with some earthiness and smoke. The wine is also earthy and meaty on the palate, also nice stone fruit flavours but a little four-square. Notably acidic on the finish. I think this may be in a bit of a dumb phase because whilst the elements all seem there it's a little disjointed at the moment. Edit: second half of the bottle a couple of days later (coravin and a decant in the meantime): the stone fruit flavours are much more to the fore, as is the tannic structure. A lovely complex wine that really needs a bit of time.

Wonderful pure raspberry fruit carried by a perfectly balanced acidity and mineral backbone. Not very complex but the pleasure lies in its balance and elegance. Drink now and over the next 2-3 years.

Very closed when first decanted, came to life after an hour or so, to show fine, long, restrained flavours and medium weight. Still a baby. Needs a chunk of time. And time in the decanter.

Decanted for ~2-hrs (I realized that Bertheau's wines gets better with more air). An attractive (yet subtle) nose of cherries, sandalwood & tinge of clove. Very savoury on the palate, with some earthly tones as well. Nice finish, and exemplary in the elegance department!

Pinot Noir theme night at Maison Dakota. Tasted blind. Aired in bottle and drank over 1.5 hours. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of flowers and honey/nectar, baking spice, sandalwood, sweet red cherries. Developing. On the palate, dry, bright high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), fine medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of honeyed sweet red cherries, savoury earth, baking spices, licorice, floral petals. Medium+ finish. Very good quality. Such refinement. Flows elegantly on the palate. Most of us nailed this down as Chambolle-Musigny Village. I guessed 2014. Should develop and drink well over the next 3-4 years.

To start with : Just opened and nothing in the nose. After 30 min in the glass it chanced. Strawberry and light fruit. The taste was elegant and smooth , then 30 min more and then more dark fruit in the nose. The Chambolle thing came to live... A very wonderfull wine. Pleasent experience.

Deep ruby. Full, integrated dark fruit, framed by lovely acidity. It developed beautifully with air and different foods, taking on a creamy character with ripe Abbey de Citeaux. (At Botanique.)

Fine and pairs well with with the roast chicken we’re having. It seems to get better with a little air time. Not a lot on the nose. Simple village wine.

Pretty floral nose, very pure and lifted (bright) on the palate. Needs quite a fair bit of air for this to strut its stuff. However, still a tad behind its 2015 sibling...

Transparent ruby red. In the nose, this is plain wonderful, super clean and bright and dynamic, light red fruit (raspberry, red currant, red cherry), beautiful floral notes of hibiscus and roses, incredibly elegant. In the mouth, it's very light, almost weightless, but with a good backbone, some light tannin, nice acidity, not concentrated at all, but also not diluted. Detailed finish. Excellent.

Seems like it's closing down though my impression is it won't be a long or deep slumber. I'm guessing this will start to drink pretty well in a few years and improve after that.

Nose: plummy, dark cherry, herbs, bit earthly, alcoholic at first, 1 hr breathing became better. Palate: a bit thin, straightforward, subtle cherry favor with herbs/ chocolate finished. I was expecting more layers and complexity from this producer, anyway a very feminine and reserved expression of CM.

This was classic and delicious. Sappy and savory red fruits. Nice chambolle perfume. Some slightly harsh edges, which should soften with a few years age.

A Bourgogne- Tasting Evening (Nobbi Müller Burgunder& Süßweine, Hamburg): This time I followed this sample over the whole evening, first the nose is not showing that much, some red berry, finesse, hints of tea, aeration over more than three hours changes everything, very subtle for a "normal" Chambolle, ripe red berry with great elegance and depth, delicious and mineralic mouthfeel, ending quite firm and long, one of the very tasty Chambolle bottles, needs some hours of aeration or 3+ years in the cellar to blossom up, for the next decade, *(**+), 89- 91

Tried this too young "beginner" Chambolle of Bertheau from the topical vintage over two days, popped and poured, restrained nose, little spicy, some lingonberry, aeration not changing a lot, starting savoury on the palate, very fine, persistent, gentle, integrated acidity, mineralic with red berry in the background, but overall most impressing is the smooth persistent balanced texture, ending long, if you are looking for this in a burgundy wine Bertheau has to be highly recommended, today on the second day nothing more to mention, this bottle is a pure silky revelation, **(*+-*?), 89-91+?

Not sure what to make of this. Tons of very fine lees sediment was suspended in the liquid after standing a few weeks and being very careful moving/ opening. Decanted. Pretty nose of red fruits with a bright tone, showing a touch of a citrusy note. This seemed to come and go on the palate, at times showing a lush red fruit with a very slight herbaceaous touch and bright cranberry backbone. Simple but very elegant. Other times the fruit seemed a bit displaced from the body; weird. I'll reserve judgment after another bottle, but I didn't dislike this.

Another "simple" Chambolle AC that is a cut above. While the nose is mostly closed, the aromatics that do show are undeniably brilliant. I'd have bet I could smell just about every red fruit in this, nice and fresh, with cranberry predominant. The flavors translate predictably on the palate, with fresh red fruits, good medium plus acidic cut, and just a touch of background oak presence. There's good resonance to the tannins in to the finish, which is medium intense, but hypnotic, and long. While it doesn't appear quite as concentrated, and may not have that extra gear I found in the '13, this is a fine and stately Chambolle.
Barrel tasting at the domaine. Really bright and sappy red fruits - think pomegranate, red currents, cherry and cherry pit. Quite light and elegant. Very Chambolle.
