Tasted over 3 hrs, edition 5 (of 6) of 2014 Bertheau horizontal -med dark red mild clearing -expressive bright sweet red fruits -med+ acidity leaves a prominent finishing tang, med/med- weight focused tangy saline tart cherry, med/med- tannins slight warmth and a whisper of oak on the long finish -good complexity and power without weight though overall I slightly prefer the Charmes at this stage; I don't love this as much as I think I should

Nicely done…clearly of a leaner vintage as this leans more savory in its flavor profile (I might have guessed 2010 if blind). There’s a bead of sweetness on the entry that lingers and plays well against the cranberry/sour cherry fruit and minerals.

If you are searching for a bottle to serve with a meal and some relatives who are not as crazy as you are in sipping Bourgogne I could honestly advice you to read the label carefully selecting your bottles, as I did not observe the whole label, accidently opened this one! Very restrained showing, both on the nose and on the palate, again commiting infanticide, some red berry, redcurrant, slightly brambleberry, dense but elegant, enormous tension and persistence, ending very long, because I did open a baby the acidity is in the foreground, just indicating what will happen in a decade++, after four hours decant a little more accessible, WAIT! Open this one in a decade with a decent decant, *(***- +?), 92+ potential

Tasted side by side with the 14 Jadot Amoureuses, both took time to open up and were different wines an hour later. rounded red fruit, I found this more savory and plush whereas Jadot had more power/bite in the finish. I slightly preferred this

Barrel tasting at the domaine. Wow, now this is several notches higher than the other 1er crus. Clearly riper fruit with some darker tones in there. The red fruit is still there, but there is darker cherry, some spice and lots of crushed rock. Really complex stuff. Very lithe on the palate; fluid. Elegance meets power. Great length and well integrated.

Atlanta Amoureuses & Monty Dinner: Really young and a bit tight. I don't mind drinking young wines, but this wasn't giving much tonight.

Absolutely stunning. Primary but so sexy. Red fruited. Rose type notes on the nose. Long future to me.
