Blue-black with a magenta edge. Bramble, spice, and leather nose. Medium bodied, blackberries, dirty black cherries, grainy tannins, good acid, smoke, and a lingering finish. Excellent value.

PnP through Nuance Wine Finer. Dark blackberry color. Rich, dark fruit on the nose, but not jammy. Little spice. On the palate, wonderful balance of dark fruit, moderate tannins and a little leather. Moderate finish. 91pts. Aloha!

Cab/merlot blend, with a touch of Malbec and Syrah. Vibrant nose. Lush and round, intense plum and blue fruits, but not jammy. Tannins have settled down. Easy drinking but still interesting, with savory and spicy whiffs. Long finish of chocolate and leather. 14.5%. For $15 this, drinks at three times that.

This seems to be finally settling into a nice place. It's not mature by any means, but it has good definition, and carries its black fruit and spice tones very well. The structure is in balance with the fruit, there's a touch of silkiness, but it never goes over to the gloppy side. It's a touch plummy, but not pruney. Ridiculous value for $17 when Carole Meredith was blowing out the last few cases earlier this year.

Pop and pour…Really lovely wine, straddling the line between easy drinker and interesting very well. Bright fruit to open, with a good pop of acid and intact, drying tannic backbone. Would say this lots of life left and is an utterly fantastic QPR.

As others have noted, this is a wonderful wine, particularly at the price from BD10. Lovely nose of dark fruits, some candied cherry, violets. Lovely and seamless on the palate -- I dont get much of the heat that others mention. Instead I get some nice earth tones, and some strong fruit notes. This is not jammy as I think someone said. But it is also not to be confused with a more traditional bordeaux. This has a nice life ahead of it. I look forward to following it for the next 10+ years. I think I can safely wait 2-3 years before the next bottle. Thank you CM for making this available at such a great price!

Give this wine some time to open up. Very tight on the initial release but opened up nicely as the time went by and was drinking great the following day after sitting in the decanter.
Aroma and flavor characteristics of dark fruit (black berry, black currant, black cherry), violet, and earth. Tannin isn’t rough to the point of not being able to enjoy the wine but should integrate more smoothly over time. Finish is medium + and the alcohol feels hot. I’m sure it will be less noticeable if served at 65* F.
I like this wine and recommend consuming it with food. Great QPR for $20 via Berserker Day X!

BlackBerry pie comes to mind...very versatile with a broad range of food. Steaks, Wood-grilled anything, robust root vegetables, red sauces, hearty soups that are heavy with cream like Minnesota Wild rice soup or chowders.

A pleasure to drink with my children's mother, Happy Mother's Day! Will benefit from several more years in the bottle, but a great wine regardless. Fine tannins, warm strawberries and cherry candy. A lot more going on here, a fun find. Big without being over the top. Paired with beef and broccoli with a zesty orange sauce.

This didn't get much air - maybe 30 minutes. We ran through a vinturi to aerate, but didn't help much. Drank over 3 hours, and still never really opened up. There seems to be a lot packed in here, but for us it was just pretty shut down right now. Pretty dense, some heat and very grippy on the finish. Probably just needs time.

This seems like it needs more time - also curious about the cepage, seems to have a very prominent syrah profile.
Day 3 - way more cabernet profile coming out. Really nice balance and complexity than I expected from day 1. I'm quite impressed, actually.
