Opened just days after 2002. Delightfully still a great wine. Very dark fruit and color, purple syrah-like. Nose complex, lots of layers of stone fruits and whiffs of flint, tobacco, and currant jam. Tastes like an aged WA cab, lush mouthfeel, and alcohols have pulled back. Acids that were dominant when released are now integrated and restrained. Not quite as lush as 2002, but still very good, and shows the potential of even Trutina. What a steal.

In a word... Yum.... Popped and immediately the smoky spices were clamoring to escape the bottle. Poured and swirled... Some floral in the nose and bit of a bite at first taste, however with a little more air, the bite faded quickly. Not as deeply red as I was expecting, just a shade or so darker than a Sangiovese.

A Dave Moore special, this is one of our favorite wines of the past year. On the nose, smoke, maple syrup, a little vanilla, fresh grass. Fruit forward in the good way, dried cherry on the end, tannins perfectly integrated. I'd drink it now.

Definitely one of the better vintages of this blend. About 6 months ago, the tanins were quite evident; they're pretty well integrated now, leading me to believe these should be consumed in the next 8-12 months. Medium body, pleasant finish; plenty of floral notes and a bit of spice. Fairly well drowned out by the pizza that went with the last of the bottle, unlike the '05 Pomum Shya consumed with it.

We drank this wine with various hors d'ouvres and it was a very pleasant surprise. I knew it should be a decent wine but it was more than decent. The tannins were refined, well-integrated. The fruit was fresh yet not overpowering, blackberry very much in evidence. A longer finish than I would have expected for this wine. It is certainly ready to drink now, could be okay for another couple of years but I doubt it will get much better than it is currently.

Just what the doctor ordered. A magnum of ripe fruit forward likeable wine that still has enough Walla Walla grit to sit up in the saddle. Goes well with just about everything, including Thanksgiving dinner for 25.

Great Walla Walla blend. Fresh aromas of bell pepper and sweet spices that also appear on the palate. Elegantly structured with nutmeg, bell pepper and celery and then finishes with wonderful black fruit that lingers with some length. Soft and smooth with very little tannins this is very tasty and ready to go.

Vegas Vacation Wines; 11/6/2006-11/11/2006 (Las Vegas, NV): Excellent wine. Very balanced bordeaux blend from Walla Walla area. Aromas of leather, black fruit and a hint of mint on the nose. Big mouthfeel of fine tannins and black fruit with a touch of cedar. Long lingering finish. Beautifully balanced wine. Great value at $20, taste like a $50+ wine.

Pretty bright, higher acid than expected, nice fruit forward character, tannins lighter, mellowed out after an hour. Very nice overall for sipping.

Bought the last three magnums at Flying Fish for a company dinner ($99 each--very reasonable). Bear's review is spot-on, this was surprisingly good.

Full blackberry fruit and mint balanced with good acids for a smooth, round mouthfeel and finish; lacks tannins; more Italian in style than Bordeaux.
