Damn, this did me in. Properly fucked up my palate. Real old fashioned aussie, the name is apt. Very very dark inky colour, nose which is like the densest most absurdly rich and overly sweet dark chocolate cake. Heaps of weight on the palate... feels vaguely off-dry too. Medium length, fair whack of oak. Probably not my style... might have been better on it's own, or with a greater decant... not towards the end of an already boozy night. This wine is the reason why my head hurts now. All that work hydrating myself with equal amounts water to wine was undone the moment this hit my palate. 14.5% my arse.
