Deep garnet color, aroma of dark cherries, opened for two hours, long legs, dry finish. Served with Prime Rib, definitely a food wine. Decanted for one hour, notes after being open three hours.

Probably cellared it for too long. If I had actually paid for this I would be upset, but it was a gift several years ago. Maybe it would be a good cooking wine?

Now this is just revolting. On first taste seemed heat damaged, but another bottle of different provence showed identically. Meaty fruit. Alcoholic nose. Abrasive on palate.

(I think someone slipped this into my kitchen wine storage because I don't remember buying it. Figured I'd try it anyway...)
Cork smelled madierized although the poured wine didn't. Eucalyptus, plum and some high octane on the nose. The memorable flavors included walnut and a hint of kangaroo breath on the nasal exhale. Quite bitter on the finish as well.
(Tossing the rest down the sink...)

Garnet colored with cherry and blackberry on the nose. Hints of toasted oak with faint chocolate on the palate. Medium tannins add a nice texture with medium finish.

A light bodied and watery wine. Nothing great and really quite a let down in tonight's line up. Frankly it had no chance. I am on the high side with my score.

A middle weight wine with little charm. Noticeable tannin and berry notes but just does not have any power or richness of fruit. Does not do the 2014 vintage justice.

I used to love previous vintages of this wine. Claret was the best of the Coppola Diamond Collection, but this vintage smells and tastes quite strongly of green bell peppers, stopping just short of spicy jalapeño territory (two of my least favorite wine aromas/flavors). It has a solid base of dark currants on the smell and taste too, which I’m sure some people would notice first if you’re not as turned off by the green pepper family as I am. The green pepper smells wore off about 50% after a few hours of being open. The taste has some additional traces of chocolate or tobacco.
The body is medium/full with a smooth texture, medium finish, and low acidity. I swear previous vintages were more full bodied, smoother, with a more rounded mouthfeel. This vintage would still pair well with a steak, beef fajitas, and TexMex.

Definitely one of the better $12 cabs out there. This provides a more pronounced and complex nose with some smokiness and mild oak accompanying the dark fruit scents. The body is medium to full, tastes great, and is mostly in balance. But the profile does seems to wobble a bit through each taste. At first everything is in very nice balance, but then the acidity seems to take over and finally the tannins show back up at the back of the finish. All-in-all, very nice for the price range. Would buy again, but not a house wine. www.vincrush.com

Thin & calm scents. Tanins are there but mild. Good example of a cab for mass market appeal. The 2012 was good, the 2014 is also good and I expect I'll buy it again. It's a good cab to introduce people to cab at parties where red meat is on the menu.

Textbook claret, albeit Americanized , so less earth or sour than a 'real' claret, but rather too textbook. Burying it's personality.
Stepping out of a black Rolls Royce Ghost entering the Cheescake factory, Beverly Hills, was rather more exciting than the best wine on the list. But hey, sometimes you just need a great burger (and a zillion more calories).

BBQ, lasagna, or grilled ribeye. Lots of sweet red fruit, drinks more like a Zinfandel than a Bdx blend. Good spice but short finish. This is probably a good wine to have on hand for a backyard summer BBQ.

- Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of blackberry, black pepper, oak and mushroom. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of black currant, blackberry, cherry and black pepper with a medium/full body. Leathery texture with a long finish.

About what you'd expect for the price. Correct cabernet-based nose, tongue-friendly, a little candied and/or jammy, but not artificial (or at least not overly artificial). In a blind tasting, I'm pretty confident that I would not guess this is a true (Bordeaux) claret. Maybe a few bucks more than it's worth, i.e., you can probably do better for the price.
