Dark fruits on the nose and palate. This was more savory than the '13 Lytton Springs opened alongside, with a better mouthfeel as well. Last bottle and certainly on the back nine of its life. Pleasant surprise as I wasn't expecting much from this.

Not sure if the recent positive notes are indicative of having a slightly off bottle but I was not a fan of this wine. Very big and ripe and alcoholic out of the gate with jammy red fruit, a bit of prune, sweet oaky notes and a bit of nail polish remover on the nose. Similar flavors on the palate with an over ripe sweetness to the finish that I found not to be enjoyable. Also, not really much structure in this wine so certainly not something I would still be holding onto. Wish I had drank this 5+ years ago.

Much bigger and more interesting than the prior bottle. Great stuff and likely a long life ahead. Quite Cobernet-ish in features, too, maybe form the mountain tannin?

Blend of zin (75%) and petite Syrah (25%) with the latter quite prominent lending more acidity, color, and more Rhône-like flavor which IMO is a bit too much, but still an enjoyable wine.

Starts big and rounded, but with air reveals a more restrained and balanced profile. Ripe cherry with a liqueur halo, some real plumminess - over all quite a briary character. This wears its alcohol and weight well, though the warm vintage did lead to the addition of a tiny amount of water and tartaric acid. This never shows through as artificial, in fact the tannins are surprisingly robust. Reminds me of Barossa and very good with stewed Venison.

Ridge always produces some very nice Zin's, this fix in at about the middle of the pack. Having a garnet color with aromas of mineral, bark and wet wool and flavors of red currant and flint. A light/medium bodied wine with a linear texture. The wine has a medium/long finish with moderate acidity.

A bit of a chameleon wine - at times super fruity and at times wound up pretty tightly with a lot of tannic grip. Held up nicely for 2 nights. Relatively primary but showing some significant earthy notes at times as well.

Very pretty, well rounded and balanced red fruit, juicy and sweet-toned, and no sharp angles. Seems to be drinking perfectly right now, finishing with a long note of mint.

Very nice. Good firm fruit, a little soft and juicy, a bit sweet compared to many Ridge. Brambly berries, dark resin in the middle and a bit of a bitter, smoke finish. Fully mature, drinking great. No need to wait on this, but no rush.

Downside? This wine is 5-10 years from peak due to the 25% petite. Dark black fruit, coffee and chocolate on the nose. Maybe even some cognac. On the palate it's medium bodied and delish.

We chose this bottle from the cellar to try with homemade chicken enchiladas with a homemade sauce that had some mild spice. The wine actually paired very well and was great on its own a couple hours later. Delicious and approachable now.

Served with Orzo and ricotta meatballs in marinara sauce, salad, bread. Lovely ruby, close to opaque. Dark fruit, ripe plum. Medium weight, dry but not austere, the fruit remains, mild acid and tannin, some black pepper. Nice solid wine.

This is good, but not my favorite Ridge Zin. A bit less complex than some of their other bottlings, this has tight, high toned fruit, chocolatey acid, violets, and smoky tight tannins. Good, but doesn't have the Ridge magic. Ready to drink.

Tasted at Ridge. As others have noted - nothing spectacular, just another solid single vineyard zin offering from Ridge. Should benefit from some time in the cellar, although still enjoyable now.

Probably opened this one a bit early but enjoyed it nonetheless. It was a tad better on day two. Different then your typical Cali Zin and quite interesting.

I found this wine distinctive on account of its piquant, dried dark fruit quality. Although I think it works better with food at this stage, it could well evolve into quite an interesting claret-style zin in about 4-5 years. Unfortunately, the $30 price point makes it a bit too much of a gamble to see if my hunch is correct. (88-90?)

Aroma: jammy dark berries, leather and earth. Palate: moderately bright plum and boysenberry with some green stemmy notes. Tannins are a bit young. Decent structure and underlying sweetness but acidic enough to pair well with food or drink on its own.

Pop and pour. Tannins are getting thin. I think this wine has peaked. I will be opening the rest very soon. Still a good wine though.

Still not my favorite Ridge zin. Paired w BBQ ribs. Doesn't have the peppery character of some other Ridge zines.

Strawberry flavor. Very light for a wine that's 75% Zin & 25% petite sirah. Not one of my favorite Ridge wines.
