Had this 6 years ago when to me it was awkward, not balanced. Today it is dark, a little brooding but not a classic(nature of vintage?). It has a lovely damsoney nose and taste with a medium finish, plummy character with clear hermitage character, only a little lighter weight than normal. Difficult to know how this wine will evolve further , as its colour belies its age but I’m not sure it will improve much from now on, other than becoming more graceful.

More elegant and fresh than expected. Still a lovely northern Rhône Syrah, but I think you can find beter value in St. Joseph/ Cornas in this style. Or am I getting used to the bigger style of the 2015/2016 vintages?
