Still drinking well 9 years later…for $15, still has a solid linger to the finish. Far from flat. PNP. Might have another year or two in it if properly cellared.

Simply delicious Aussie blend of CS, Merlot and Shiraz. Nice development, hides 14.5%abv very well.
N: Perfumed, red plump berries, milk chocolate, cassis, grenadine sweetness.
P: Dark cherries, ripe plum, a bit of potpourri earthy incense spice. Full, but elegant, old word sensibility. Dried rosemary stems, dried thyme stems. Subtle old leather. Enveloping subtle creamy texture against med+ acid & med- tannin. Balanced.
F: Bergamot, dried raspberry, rose, oaky cream and leather.

This wine was medium ruby with aromas of ripe plum and a hint of caramel. The body was medium(+), tannins were medium(-), and acidity was medium. The wine was dry. Flavours included strawberry, black currant, some spice, and a hint of green pepper and oak. It has a nice acidity. This wine was well balanced and enjoyable, and continues to impress. At $22 CAD I will buy this again.

Church Block is a wine that actually does a pretty good job at living up to its reputation. It's not generic, it certainly does delivery and is generous for £10. First of 3 bottles in the cellar.
Nose - Perfumed, pretty but deep. Eucalyptus creeping through the dense plum reduction. Ripe strawberry and creamy dark chocolate.
Palate - Full, silky, creamy texture, not OTT. Extracted dark fruit mingle with dark choc, leather and old tobacco muskiness. A bit simple.
Finish - Leather/earth lingers long.

Quite a fine blend with darkfruit and cassis on aroma, and dark chocolate too. Nice oak and spice felt on both nose and palate. Tannin-feel wasn't too harsh. Fruity and medium full body

Still a bit angular. The cab dominates. Give it a couple more years.
