A consistently good Cab and a great QPR. Paul Hobbs is doing a wonderful job down in Argentina. Full bodied, medium tannins with good balance. Blackberry, casis and plums.

Ripe currant and dried cherry fruit backed up by a bit of rustic cedar and leather on the nose. Full-bodied and flavourful with balanced, ripe tannins and a long finish that lingers with the effect of a rather high acidity. 4/5

Deep garnet colour. The nose shows pronounced intensity aromas of cassis, ripe black currants, dark cherries, vanilla, clove, cedar and hints of violets.
It is dry in the mouth with a moderate acidity. It has firm fine-grained tannins and a warm alcohol. It is full-bodied with pronounced intensity flavours. The finish is long.
It is a very good quality wine. The finish is very persistent and the flavours very concentrated, in balance with the alcohol and tannins. It also shows complexity provided by oak ageing, but a bit more of acidity would have provided it with more freshness.

N: Jammy (lingonberries?) with a focused, intense aspect
P: MF, poss Med, body; Almost swtish frt on front goes astringent early mid palate, the astringency building into the long, VERY slightly bitter finish. NEEDS 2-3 yrs, but does it have the frt for that? 91 pts Suckling, 89 Tim Atkin, 88 Vinous, & 86 Decanter. [As is commonly the case, this vendor's $13.95 is VERY competitive.]

Spicebox, plum and bright cherry on the nose. Cherry cola, with jammy plums and figs on the palate. Bright, not overly heavy, still quite astringent near the end of the palate. Not terribly tannic, but could use more time to balance out. A good daily drinker. 89-90 points.

Perfectly balanced and well crafted, this is intense and appealing for it's freshness and persistence, exhibiting flavors of clove, Chinese Five-spice, licorice, and deep plum. Complex, but very easy drinking and friendly.

Big and black fruited off the cork pull. Roasty like a black coffee. does not go well with tooth paste. But the palate is big and luxurious.

Incredibly smooth and easy drinking. Little funk in the nose after opening. After 30 minutes balances out. Great wine for the price.
