Agree with all the previous reviews. Nothing to add other than i wish i had another bottle so i could open it again in 2 years to see if it got even better.

Very enjoyable owing to the slightly unusual blend, hence the name. On the advice of previous reviews, we decanted this wine and it was a good call, clearly needed. Color is interesting: very bright purple red but a bit translucent and certainly way more so that a pure Syrah would be. So even just visually you know this is going to be different. On the nose, pure blue and red ripe fruit, but harmoniously balanced and restrained with some decent tannin. The palate added more complexity: started off with a savory flourish followed by all sorts of secondary notes to, again, balance out the fruit. Initially mint, cedar and toward the end of the evening a bit more coffee, charcoal. Finish was medium long, 20 seconds or so. Held up all evening. I love the tension between the white varietals and the Syrah: soft yet with a strong backbone. Also one of their more reasonable offerings.

Striking in its power and its balance. Opens with garrigue, spice and crushed black fruits in the nose and then broadens on the palate to reveal plum pit, black cherry, camphor, cinnamon and nutmeg. A blast in the finish, but it never feels overblown. A beautiful rendition of the Misfit with many years still ahead of it. Drink now to 2030. Outstanding.
Calmed down since last taste 5 years ago. Still looking gorgeous with a reticent but inviting nose. Viognier taking over the month-feel properly. Smoky fat, olives and cherries define the flavor profile. Getting better with time in a big glass.
Still a baby but very approachable and drinking well. Balanced, fruit forward but not over extracted. a wine anyone would enjoy. I would have liked it better 3-5 years from now to let the tannins (firm but integrated) resolve themselves a bit more. Great wine.

Pop and pour. Fruity, medium-bodied Sanguis that isn't really more than the sum of its parts but the parts are delicious. Grenache, Petit Syrah, Viogner.

This is no misfit. Excellent representation of the underlying grapes. The Rosanne and Viognier take turns adding interesting notes to the Symphony of flavors. Dark fruit, cinnamon, pepper, ginger, and other spice. Long, sustained finish. Should be very interesting in 5 years.

Last bottle. This Misfit was a winner and I don't think it's going to improve from here. Drink up.

Pop and pour. This continues to show beautifully. Punchy red and black fruit, nice acid, some tannic bite. Great cocktail wine.

Pop and pour and ready to go right away. Full-bodied red fruit, chewy tannins. Just a great cocktail wine.

Loads of dark cherries, crispy bacon, some leather, green peppercorn. This is not shy. Drink now over the next three years.

Loved this wine, rich dark fruits, good spice, slamming central coast syrah.

I love these creative blends from Sanguis. This one drank great right out of the bottle and kept improving over two hours.
