A fine wine but I enjoy the moscatel a bit younger and fruity. The alcohol is pronounced, I’m just not sure the moscatel become much better with age. Comes down to personal taste though

Bought in 1999 in Quebec city, tasted in 2020, this wonderful wine ha 23 years in my cellar, added to the years before bottling... Caramel colored, wonderful mix of savors: nuts, spice cake, ginger, fig, date, cinnamon. very intense and very long aftertaste. Complex. Sweet, but not too much. Delicious with blue cheese, foie gras and...alone. I just bought 4 new bottles. Wait after it even if it is 20 years of age. It is worth waiting.

Kubrick's Cube (El Portal - Alicante): There follows this wine with amplitude of aromas of apricots and fallen leaves of a Weeping Willow. Also freshly made nougat. Good depth on the palate with acidity and bitterness that interrupts the initial sweetness note.

Flashing Alicante 3; 8/22/2017-8/26/2017 (Alicante - España): We will always have Portugal ... Served the glass from a new bottle. The usual raisins and dates are wrapped in a mineral layer. Very attractive. In the mouth it is tremendously powerful, direct and very very long. It has the depth you want on demand. Pairing another interpretation of the tatin tart, to flaw of the puff pastry and this time also of the apple, we just will live with memories.

Much more dark and rich than expected, very much like a cream sherry or madeira. A bit ragged on the finish, so I probably kept it a bit too long. For the money I'd hoped for more balance.

Tasty and full in the mouth. Flavorful and yummy but not v complex. Finish is nice but not memorable. Given it comes in a 500ml bottle, would look to pay under $25. Suspect won't find it that low.

Deep, clear, amber color. Rich, complex nose of maple syrup, butterscotch, ground nuts and dried yellow tropical fruits. Sweet, layered palate that is enjoyably light on its feet; deep, rich flavors of caramelized fruits, raisins, woody spice, nuts, butterscotch and maple syrup. Refreshing acid tang. Very persistent, ethereal finish with complex flavors of sweet oak spice, oxidized rancio, maple syrup, nuts and dried apricot in the finish.
Incredible, impressive Moscatel that is up there with the good Colheita tawnies; this wine might lack the power and the pepper of tawnies, but instead it offers incredible depth, complexity, balance and elegance. Thoroughly lovable, hedonistic stuff. At ~25€ this is a real find. I love it.

Nowhere near where it should be: lacking body, and overly oxidized, very tea like. Still some nice flavours, enought to drink it, but not the experience we'd hoped for.

Very intense, big and powerful. Sort of stays with you for a couple of minutes too. Its always a great experience to try these well aged gems. Dont have much note son this and having it last in a long flight of wines always blurs the senses and memeory but in a way its like a port but milder but still lots of similarities. Nice and complex multilayered and evolves nicely in the glass.

Three Michelin Star Wine Pairing - Cocina Hermanos Torres - Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain): Wine Pairing @ Cocina Hermanos Torres in Barcelona. Dessert wine. Light amber color. Paired with chocolate and ice cream. Good pairing but too much alcohol for my taste.

I have always liked this wine but this specific bottle was odd, somewhat bitter and really not what I remember.
Maybe an off bottle so no rating.

Fabulous wine over several days (although best at the beginning) - dense of citrus, huge finish - excellent value too.

Very similar in flavour profile to a blood orange tart. If we’d have caramelised the segments too it would have been the same

Ljusbrun färg
Spritig, enbär, lim, tapetklister, jenka tuggummi, koda

Tasting at Jose Maria da Fonseca winery, Setubal, Portugal: Brandy flavor is heavy. Sweetness is balanced by acidity. Tawny style, oak flavor comes through. Alcohol is obvious.

Interesting dessertwine as it is not so sweet, but rather complex, very smooth, and with a touch of bitterness.
Great QPR.
