Forgot about this bottle in the cellar... the drinking window as indicated would suggest that this probably wouldn't have been very good in 2010 (2+ years after the latest recommended drinking age). Surprisingly, it was very good... very smooth and enjoyable with bacon-wrapped fillet, potatoes au-gratin and green beans. Definitely wasn't past its prime!

Still not a Zin guy but this is one producer of this varietal that I can go to with confidence... As usual this bottle was not over the top with the alcohol and it was more full of juicy flavors of cherry and boysenberry than most and less cloaked with tobacco and earth than many.

This one was excellent. Was worried it may be a little past its prime, per previous note. Bold and full-bodied, light tannins with smooth finish. Nothing but perfection for a $25 wine. Oh happy days are here again for Frog's Leap, one of my favorites. Ribbitt!

Initial nose of dark berries and wet earth. after 45 minutes much of the nose lost with light fruit remaining. Soft tannins with a 10 second finish - very pleasant, easy drinking wine.

A big wine with lots of backbone. Nose was bustling with scents of blackberry, damp earth. Taste presented Cab/Syrah-size tannins. Tastes of blackberry, earth, coffee and a hint of molasses. Definitely aerate this wine before drinking. Enjoyed this wine, but could probably park this bottle on the shelf until 2009-2010.

Had at Delorenzo's...opened for an hour and a half before drinking. Cork had slight signs of mold. Plums and chocolate on the nose. Plums and black fruits on the palette. Not the best zinfandel, but not a fruit bomb either. Medium finish with medium tannins. Wine seemed a bit thin for a zinfandel, but would definitely purchase again.

Decanted about 2 3/4 hours. This wine has a wonderful nose. I got lots of black currant, and candied plums, plus a good amount of dark chocolate and vanilla extract. The palate has a pretty even mixture of black currant and chocolate, and just a touch of spice. The tannins have a nice grip and the finish is long with fruit.

One of several relatively fancy bottles uncorked last night at Monika Monika's party. Intense zin bouquet, surprisingly tart, rich fruit, long finish. Excellent.

Very nice brambly, wildberry nose. Bright, but not over the top. Decent tannins. NIce bottle of wine, although missing any kind of wow factor...

Opened and did not decant, initial nose was still young and herbacious. As it sat, started to open up and the fruit came forward.
