Earthy, intense and honest showing tobacco, apple, sand and caramel notes. Low to medium acidity, medium to high tannins and long finish. Good wine. NI:3, FI:21, FC:8, B:3, L:4

The Tempranillos of Toro are characteristically riper and lusher than those of, say Rioja, and this fine expression is no exception. There's ripe cherry and raspberry, the fruit very much in the fore, with additional meaty and herbal notes along with dried dark fruit, a hint of chocolate and some minerality on the finish. And while there's a bit of baking spice sprinkled here and there, there isn't nearly as much obvious oak influence as in so many Riojas. Instead, there's still impressive acidity and freshness here (cutting through the ripe fruit), as well as youthful chalky tannins, and so certainly a few more years of aging potential. Add to all that impressive length and you've got a pretty impressive wine and a great value at just $19 in Ontario -- and yet more evidence of the benefits of looking to Spain's lesser-known regions for accessible quality.

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like fig and tastes like blackberry. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

Very reasonable for the inexpensive price. This is a medium bodied black fruit profile wine, that has a mild restrained acidic finish. Its reasonably smooth and easy drinking for the price. You can easily drink this on its own - it's not just a food wine.

Good QPR for the price. Drank a few glasses after a Hall cabernet, which obviously wasn't a good comparison. Came back 3 days later and it still had some life in it, and drank well. Also drank a few other bottles from this producer and enjoyed for the price.

dark red fruits and spice; this wine is quite interesting in the mouth with high acids and young tannins making a big impression around some fruit that seems a bit more delicate. a bit different and enjoyable.

Like last years, great balance, very good dark red fruits, dried dirt, minerals, black tea and some background cinnamon. Very good overall and great for the money.

Really quite enjoyable . Dark fruit, mocha with juicy acidity and still touch of tannin to resolve. Only thing is a somewhat lack of Tempranillo typicity.

Wasn't impressed on Day 1. If I had stopped drinking this, I would give it an 86-87, just not impressive, lacked any finish, not full bodied. Opened it back up after leaving in my wine fridge overnight, made some chicken fajitas, and this was singing. Completely different wine. I have a few more bottles of this along with the Seleccion from this producer. It looks like another one of the TW winery direct wines where they try to offer discounts on it to get people to buy in bulk.. but in this case, I think it was a good buy for $14!

Très sympa. Dans la ligne du grand frère mais plus modeste. Beau fruit, touche de chocolat et de bois. Le soleil est au rdv! Très bon rqp pour un ribera del duero bio.

Attractive nose prompts curiosity which is promptly satisfied as the macho tannins linger long and chewy, with notes of campfire smoke, blackberry, licorice with a light touch of spice. The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle.

Bright raspberry nose. Full-bodied, no rough edges. Green-stick finish. Pair with some dark chocolate!

Very good. Dark purple in color with thin legs. Alcohol on the nose. Slightly syrupy in flavor up front; spice on the finish.

Very similar to other years, ripe cherry, pomegranate, plum, mushroom, cigar box, great balance and good intensity. A great value, year after year.

Amazing. Lovely smooth earthy wine. Notes of plum and cherry. Fruit forward with a little grit on the teeth to a very smooth finish.

Aromas of earth, dark fruit and licorice. Tastes of plum, blackberry, earth, and anise. Smooth after decanting four plus hours.

Ordentlicher Wein, wenn auch im direkten Vergleich mit Finca Sobreno deutlich zurück. Kann man mal trinken, ein Favorit ist der Wein jedoch nicht.
