Red cherry, strawberry, pretty spices and earth notes on the nose. Close to full bodied (14.5% ABV) with rounded red and black cherry upfront. Gains depth and tension through the middle. The fruit is showing good expression and is well balanced with the tannins and acidity on the backside. Has elements of elegance and elements of tannic grip. Shows well now, but should continue to improve as the fruit and structure components come together.

Classic Barolo. Smokey notes on the nose with lots of mineral and herb elements. Brickish ruby red in glass with clear rim. Mouthfeel is acidic and tannic as you would expect but with a sweet and herbaceous streak. Long finish with stone and some gaminess. Wish I had more to see how this drinks in 3-5 years

A very well made classic barolo in style and taste. Irony minerality on nose and in finish with dried fruits and a cherry like finish. good balance and will certainly improve and age for years

Started with a funk and ended with a very tannic structure. Lovely soft light/medium bodied wine. I think this needs a few years to resolve. Maybe in 5 years this will get to the mid 90’s.

Tasted after 60-90 minutes in a carafe. The color is deep ruby red. The nose has cherries, cranberries, and overtones of mushroom. The flavors are of indistinct red fruit. Medium plus tannins, medium acid. Long finish due mostly to tannins. Pairs well with food. Alcohol 14.5%.

Deep red in color with orange tones at the edges. After an hour in the decanter, aromas of mineral/chalk and menthol with a hint of cranberry. Medium-high acid with substantial tannins. The palate has minimal red fruit, stone, and alcohol (14.5%). Pair with substantial foods, high in fat content.

Tasting occurred after 2 hours in the decanter. The color was intense ruby red with edges of very slight orange-brown. The nose was astringent with predominant menthol and vegetal notes. The palate was mineral and had hints of tart cherries and blackberries. Nicely balanced acidic and tannic structure with a medium finish. Recommend drinking 60 minutes after decanting. After 2 hours, the fruit has diminished.

Vajra & Baudana Barolo Dinner (Ai Fiori (Langham Hotel on 5th Ave)): Again a bit of sweet red fruit to it. It's heavier bodied than the Ravera which had a certain crispness to it. Lots of tannins, but they seem to take a backseat to the fruit. Touch of mint on the finish.

The nose showed concentrated black cherry and raspberry, infused with aromas of smoked meat, earthy minerals, spice and dusty soil. On the palate, I found silky textures contrasted by fine tannin, displaying dark red fruits, balsamic tones and minerals. It finished long on saturating dark red and black fruits and a coating of gripping tannin.

Drinking nicely from pop and pour, followed over a couple hours. Darker fruits, nicely balanced. I found this quite a strong showing.

Slightly better on day 2, pretty and elegant but a touch thin and a short on the finish. Decent showing for the vintage.

Super barolo, plein d'énergie, complexe et parfaitement équilibré. A boire ou à garder 5 ans.

At the winery: Powerful nose with dry rose petals, lots of non-fruit earthy perfume, huge dry fine tannins; tons of structure, in its infancy.
