From half bottle this was expressive. It has an intense core of dark plum and blackberry fruit. There's a touch of cedar and leather and some sweet tobacco. It is creamy and rich, with layers of flavour and good tannic chew just under the flesh.

Tasted next to 2013. Less expressive and ripe compared to some of the right bank wines at this tasting. Really spicy as well. Good acidity, polished tannins, well balanced. Not super complex, but very good. 91-92+

Pomerol panache (Bordeaux, actually tasted during en primeur week): This conveys very fresh aromatics, both floral and fruit, with a bright opening and a smooth mid palate. It delivers the goods in a suave manner, with much lift on the pleasing finish. Another sample, another successful Pomerol. 90-92+

Medium-bodied, soft and polished, the wine isn't deep, but it's forward, soft, forward and expressive, making it a pleasure to enjoy young.

UGC Tasting Amsterdam 2/5/2018: I noticed a somber colour, lovely acidity, also some sweetness, juicy, tasty and some complexity; I like this wine.

Amsterdam UGCB Tasting and Winemakers' Dinner (Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky / Café De Klepel): Tasting, brief note. Light and slightly autumnal style, relatively moderate tannins, needs more time to integrate the oak, good length.
