My first try from this chateau, a blend of 50% Mer, 45% CS and 5% PV, oaky nose, tar, meat, in the background black fruit, the oak is quiet dominant still, a little drying too, so this needs air at the moment, delicious mid- to full bodied black fruit, good freshness by present acid, mineral spice now in the background, good grip and long aftertaste, **(-***- ?), around 88-90(+) potential Update on evening 16/1: a bit more restrained on the palate now, no significant improvement, the tar and licorice predominant, the fruit more subdued,

Trade tasting: This was impressive, chocolatey, smokey, spherical creamy and modern with superb depth, nice freshness and good length with gripping tannin. 14%. Lay down 5 years to settle the highish oak.

This cask sample was a bit disappointing, although the bouquet was very pure and elegant, but after that the wine did not meet my expectations; body modest, aftertaste a bit short.

Sporting good color, licorice, smoke, black cherry and earthy scents are right there. Round, with sweet, ripe plums in the endnote, give it a few years to come around. 88 - 90 Pts
