Dream Big, California Wines (Hotel Atlantic, Hamburg, Germany): One glass, brief note: lots of delicious raspberry, soil and mineralic hints, well balanced on the midpalate, fresh, not too heavy, ending with some supporting acid long+, **(*+- ?), 90- 91+ potential

Almost reminded me of a young Brunello di Montalcino packed with fruit. Not yet in it's prime but should be outstanding in a few more years. Pretty great now.

Champagne and US Pinot tasting (Tords place): More sweet and candy like than the Knox Alexander. Sweet spices and white pepper. Red fruit palate with touch of toasted barrel and fine acid finish. 89-90 points.

Vin I Nord Sparkling and US Pinot (Tords house): Clear red to crimson. Nose with a christmas feel to it. Spices. Hints of citrus / grapefruit and wax. The palate is structured with distinctive tannins and a somewhat warmer expression than Knox Alexander. I also find clearer traces of oak in this. Good juicy fruit tones in the aftertaste.

With 90 minutes air this is an outstanding new world Pinot Noir. A rich, velvety mouth feel, a nose of dark red fruit and spice with a big burst of acidic dark cherry on the palate, with a silky sumptuous finish.
Does need enough air right now, I'd wager this would be an incredible wine in 10 years (though this was my last bottle :) )

Another Santa Barbara Trip; 7/15/2016-7/16/2016 (Los Olivos, Santa Barbara): Probably my favorite wine of the tasting. Very bright red fruit, spicy nose, with a touch of stem inclusion. More fruit forward on the palate than the Aubaine with candied red fruits. Great acidity, soft tannin and a peppery finish.

Beautiful Au Bon Climat pinot… elegant, balanced, and with a long finish. Good now, but this will age well and gain complexity.

Light/medium bodied. Spicy cherry, toast, cedar palate.
Still drinking well.

very good, spicy california pinot, but perhaps not in the highest division, and therefore å litte pricy (489 NOK).
