Stood up for an hour. Got some air under cork for another hour.
Just a stunner. Bright, gorgeous purple fruit. Great balance and finish that left you wanting more. Well paired with filet mignon. Can lay down for a bit, but lovely right now. Exceeded expectations (which were high!).
Quite big and wound, though by no means punishing. Dark fruits with hints of brighter ones, spice. Tannins have some grip. Was far better on day two. I’d suggest waiting another 3 years

Still young. Decanted 1 hour prior. Deep purple color. Nose of dark fruits, casis. Monolithic at this time. Pure, tannic, mellowed in the glass to even sweet tannins at the end of the evening. Nice and not overbearing use of fine oak. Long finish. Very enjoyable wine.

Purplish ruby red. A bit tight but with significant aromas of dark spices, graphite and minerality. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Rich mouthfeel of blackberries, bramble and sweet spices. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2032. (93+)

Hallmark Pott. Notes of purple-red plum, black cherry, pomegranate, cedar, and earth. It has that old school meets new school vibe, with a good combination of restraint and structure, coupled with flavor and accessibility. Could use another couple of years to get totally right with itself and settle into its flavor profile with more seamlessness and depth. A bit linear and clipped on the back end, but not so much that it distracts from the nice display overall.
Hold until 2020+

Snowed in, curious to try a 2014, newborn baby sleeping, why not? This was excellent! I don't know how much of this speaks to 2014 potentially being an underrated vintage or Aaron being an exceptionally talented winemaker, but my wife and I were so pleased with this wine. Not to be for everyone, but for those Napa whores out there such as myself, this was a real beauty. Very cassis driven with black cherry, blackberry, and baking spices giving it a very savory / bold quality. Very full bodied with layers of flavor that caress the palate with tannins that are very smooth and silky. Literally the kind of wine you want to eat and not drink, but it's all there with this one. Should age gracefully for several years, but if one is impatient, this wine is also your friend too...

This has evolved really nicely and in a good place. Tannins were integrated. Still some primary fruits and more complexity is accessible now.

This may be my favorite Pott. Huge and complex.

Color of dark red purple. Scents of black berries and other muddled black fruit. Taste were consistent with scents, and it was smooth, and not tannic.

Really wonderful earthy on the nose, but buttery and long finish. Beautiful! Steve and Patti have a lot of this.

Took this bottle with us to London. Popped at hotel and poured.
Just stunning stuff. Impressive purple fruit that really comes in waves on the palate, and builds to a towering finish.
I know Aaron's wines age gracefully and this should be no exception. But this was a great showing of its capabilities as a young wine.
