Probably one of the best 1984 old Bordeaux I drank. I like the aged Bordeaux and this is delicious. Pronounced nose intensity with notes of mushroom, tea, spices, toast, cedar. Medium acidity and medium tannin. Slow ox for 1 - 2 hours. Drink up now. Will not improve.

Cheval Blanc tasting (30 different vintages) at the Rheingau Gourmet Festival 2014: rubin color; started with a smoke-type nose; however, soon all aromas and flavors vanished; thin and expressive weak; one dimensional.
Weakest bottle at the tasting.
Vintages 4th flight: 1979-1980-1981-1982-1984
