Elegantly poured a soft red with delightful aromas of cherry and wild flowers rising from the glass. Soft flavors of sweet cherry, plumbs and with hints of florals swirled over the taste buds. Spring seems to be incapsulated within the walls of the bottle, with light in texture that seem to blossom as the day evolves. Semi dry, well balanced with a long enjoyable finish.

Mainly Oregon (Noizé): Similar light ruby to cherry. Richer on the nose, and the fruit more in the strawberry spectrum. Lovely texture in the mouth, creamier and plusher without being overdone. Long finish with the strawberry element to the fore. Still some ok and a touch of heft but it’s balanced and just about in check. ****

Decanted 3 hrs. 5 years since my last bottle, this was drinking like a prototypical Brick House SVD pinot; that is dark berries strewn about a forest floor, good balance, mid weight palate structure and good focus. Yet, something never really came together on this bottle, it just never really turned the corner that I expected it too. Perhaps slightly off or just in a stubborn phase, I’ll let me last bottle sit another 5 years. Still, this was tasty.

Very pretty fruit, bouquet and palate, backed by sublime textures and seductive weight. The only downside, listed 14.1 abv, which the wine wears well enough. 92-93.

Bright red and blue fruits with a light touch of spice. Very good structure and balance, and an excellent finish. Drinking well now with a brief decant, but due to its excellent structure and balance, it should continue to age gracefully for a few years.

Sheer elegance. Velvety mouthfeel with notes of strawberry, rhubarb and tea, topped off with the perfect amount of acidity. Third of six bottles, and they were all killer. Love this wine!

Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about two hours.
Garnet color in the glass, fairly clear with a slight dustiness. Nose of rose petals, spice box and raspberries. Flavors of raspberries, cherries and strawberries. Medium to bright acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink or hold. No rush.

Wine is translucent and ruby-garnet color with light coloring. Smells are smoky, blackberries, raspberries, and cedar notes. Tastes are cherries, sassafras, blackberries, and woody and earthy notes. The finish is long and the texture is crisp while the tannins are like fine velvet with a bit of heat while remaining elegant.

This has added substance and depth over the last year, and imparts distinct Burgundian elements. Likely to turn heads in a blind tasting of serious red Burgundy. Very young. It can age for fifteen or more years. 93-94.

Dense ruby garnet color, haze and opaque. The smells are coffee, strawberry, some barnyard, dill, earth, and peppery notes. Tastes are strawberry, clove, olive, cherry, and peppery spices. Sweet and long finish with nice acidity and finely dusted tannins.

Decanted 4 hrs. Very inviting nose, already showing fragrant dark fruits and spice, nicely offset by a earthy mineral quality. Though still a baby, and certainly drank like a 2 year old, this nonetheless was wide open and putting out quite a bit of enjoyment. Generous in its dark plum profile, this was layered and very consistent from end to end. A little oak peeked out in the first half glass but soon was enveloped ito the overall package. Very well played. My best guess is this will be a mid term ager, say drink now and over the next dozen years, but no regrets pulling the cork last night.

Tasting at Brick House (Ribbon Ridge): Winery tasting. Nose is full of earthy, loamy, red cherry fruit. Palate has terrific concentration and volume. It's expansive and broad across the palate. Rich, focused finish.

Drank for Dad's birthday during Manzanita family weekend, September 2016. Blind tasting of 2012, 2013 and 2014 Les Dijonnaise. Everyone thought the 2014 was the 2012. 2014 was the winner for all except Kyle, who liked the 2013. Amazing night. This is why we collect wine.

Attention grabbing bouquet of forest berries, live herbs, cracked peppercorns, mineral ores, and coal. A wine of commanding presence that touches every part of the palate. Exceptional balance, depth, and nuance. Enjoyable now with a long decant, but it will be better in time. There is a significant upside here. 93-94.

Tackling the Pacific Northwest (Los Olivos, CA): I found this undistinguished, sadly. Intense, sour fruit, decent depth, but nothing memorable. Should benefit from time, in fairness.

Cloudy in appearance. Nice acidity, burgundian, incredibly fragrant, has stuffing to age a few years and improve. Beautifully balanced.
