Sour cherries and cranberries; good strength and body but somewhat linear flavor profile. Red fruit forward but lacking acid. A california cabernet and the softer side

Dark red fruit and spice, nice density and lift. Improved with time and continued to increase in penetration and length. Quite good but upside from here. 93/94

I consumed a bottle of ‘15 Red Rock Terrace back in May and it was much more approachable and on an advanced evolutionary track than the ‘14. As a result of this tasting, I will hold my remaining bottles of ‘14. This bottle was decanted for 90 minutes and consumed over an additional 2 hours. It is a beautiful wine and has all of the stuffing to age. It is just too primary for my palate especially knowing what a Diamond Creek can become.

Beginning to mellow. Drinking really well. Still structured and too young but early drinking. Fruit more BlackBerry and blueberry. Ripe tannins. Good acidity. Fruit still big.

Decanted and aerated. Complex dark red fruit nose with a hint of minerals. Soft texture and light tannins. Slightly chalky with very balanced oak. Very complex dark fruit that lingers unchanged for an extended period. Simply yummy!

Napa Masterclass - Guildsomm - Kelli White (Ungrafted, SF): Deep ruby-red color. Extremely floral, almost poupourri nose - dried roses. 2yrs in 100% NFO Dead-on cranberry sauce. Tart red fruit, slight hint of VA. Lovely dusty cinnamon/clove notes - perfectly integrated oak for this stage. No hints of pyrazines. Some christmasy / gingerbread notes. Tart blackberry. Fantastic. Full-bodied, feels 14.7%, with strong medium plus acid, ripe blackberry, blackcurrant, and gingerbread on the palate. High tannins - chewy and... rocky?
It's on the riper side, but also has lovely florals. It makes me think of mountains, rather than the tightly controlled construction of, say, Spottswoode. A bit wild and sweet-savory.

A Matter of Taste: New York (The Conrad NY | Del Posto): This was quite enjoyable. A more muted style which I liked. Lots of spices across the spectrum - a full cabinet of them. Very young but with some great potential. Interesting to see the difference in style to Volcanic Hill (which was not quite my vibe).

Napa September 2017; 9/9/2017-9/11/2017 (Napa, CA): The softest of the 3 vineyards, beautiful mouth feel, red cherry and blackberry. The leaner style of these wines are what make them age so well. A beautiful expression.

Tasted at the magnificent and magical estate tucked in Diamond Mtn. One of the special places in Napa, and so far my very favorite for all the good it offers despite the wines. Bordeaux blend sourced from the sloping terrace below the winery planted in double canopy arrangement. The bouquet is absolutely stunning with layers of fresh black and blue fruits, ferrous minerality, and mild spices. The tannins are lighter and palate more metallic than its siblings, finishing medium long with well integrated oak. Total white glove winemaking just letting the vines speak for themselves
