still some kernel expressing itself in the aromas. marrying into some dark cherry fruit. palate shows forceful med/+ acid. noticeably higher than I've recently found in other Calera Pinots. Burnished wood and chestnut kernel aromas. this was probably my favorite of the night. drink 2023

Drank from .375ml bottle (halfwitwines.com). Flat, boring and one dimensional. Seemed watery and too "fruit-juicy." Not getting the high scores on this one; not a flawed bottle, just seems like a typical, mid-range California Pinot.

Wine 8 of Calera Tasting: The big cedar nose dominates this wine. The warm cherry is there, but it's having a hard time peeking through. Also getting some fresh herbal notes on this. A medicinal cherry note follows through in the mouth, and good peppery spice.. The tannins here are big, and I don't feel totally integrated yet. Still pretty young.

Some berry. A bit thin, but some tannins. Still a very nice pinot from Calera.

A little bit on the thin side... but still a decent California Pinot Noir.

dark cherry w building tannins thru the mid palate then hangs on a good while. Still has time left.

Not very good at first but once it opened up it was quite elegant. Green olive, baked cherry, blueberry on the palate with a medium finish.
