  • Absolutely stunning bottle condition - good cork with a very top shoulder fill. This was actually quite primary at first, requiring about an hour of air to show more complexity. Fabulous Merlot notes; lots of plums, black cherry, blackberry, and earth with more mineral notes as it had more exposure to air. Only the bit of black olive present suggests its true age. You almost suspect it needs more time in the cellar! A little less dense on the palate but you still would have guessed 1980s blind. Well balanced and long on the finish. A very fine St Emilion showing dramatically younger than its true age. True treat.
