  • Small amount of sediment, decanted off. Light ruby, age-appropriate bricking; aromatic, red fruited, strawberry, some chewy red licorice, some spice; palate is light bodied, medium-plus acidity, medium alcohol, youthful fruit, not quite persistent through the midpalate but overall good; finish is short-medium. This is enjoyable now, burgundian in quality, balanced, not showing any overripeness from the year, elegant, but also not showing the depth and complexity that would justify buying and cellaring this at $60+. Drink up over the next 5 years. 89-90
4 hours double decanted: Not improved, essentially the same. 89-, drink up within the next few years.

  • Coravin. Light ruby, very slight bricking appropriate for its age; nose has medium-plus intensity aromatics, red berries, slight spice, a little minerality; palate is light bodied, elegant red fruits, soft supple light tannins, clean through the midpalate with slight minerals; finish is medium length. Balanced, elegant, fresh, integrated tannins that drink well now but will probably last 10 years. 88

  • From magnum. Had this with our Thanksgiving turkey and ham and it was fabulous. Subtle, complex aromas of flowers, earth, crushed berries and spice fill the glass. Medium-to-full bodied and silky in texture. Offers plenty of tangy, mouth-watering, cherry, strawberry and cranberry fruit matched deftly to a pleasant, moderate acidity. Impeccably balanced. Hints of chalk and bramble emerge on the mid-palate and persist into the long, polished finish, where notes of sweet fruit, spice and mineral linger on. This was so elegant, harmonious and flat-out delicious. The terroir showed beautifully. Our wine of the night, among the four "all-stars" that we opened.

  • A sophisticated easy drinker. Balanced and beautiful! Rusty/ruby in color, decent legs, no sediment, light scent, soft on the palate and full on the flavor with a long soothing finish.
