Deep and concentrated. Full bodied. Dense Crushed black fruits with spices, oak and a hint of smoke. Fantastic Duoro from a winery of 300 plus years. Still solid tannins. Can easily get better with further cellaring. Great expression of good Portuguese Duoros

Last bottle in the cellar (3/3). Deep purple/black in color. Nose is fresh and fruity with just a little heat form the high abc. Blueberry/blackberry fruit with medium acidity and well integrated tannins. This is ready to drink now but will likely continue to perform well for years to come. Outstanding QRP!

Nearly opaque violet with mild rim clearing Medium plus aromas - primarily fruit f=driven of blackberry/ fig/ balsamic with subtle notes of turned earth and sweet spices Medium palate of black fruit and cocoa/ coffee beans Alcohol quite dominant on the palate Medium plus fine grained tannins which are a bit green Medium/medium plus acidity and medium length Well made but not my style at this stage Would recommend holding for 3-5 yrs to let these tannins settle down and hope for some more secondaries to develop

Opened the first of three bottles in the cellar last night. Very smooth, seductive wine. Floral aromas. Dark fruit. One of my favorite wines. We also have 3 each of 2015 and 2016.

Excellent. Medium/full body, berry flavors still there tho not overwhelming, chocolate. A little more spirit than id wish but it sure tasted great w brazilian charcoal grilled picanha. Tannins there but in great spot, not overwhelming. Pop and pour over 2h.

Deep garnet, barely translucent, slow tears @ 14.5% abv. Aromas of forest fruit, leather, oak, laurel. Dry, medium acidity, medium-medium(+) ripe tannin, medium(+) alcohol and medium body. Rather elegant palate of black cherry, pepper, licorice, savory meat notes and pepper. Balanced, syrupy texture. Good length with restrained elegant finish lifted up by fruit-driven acidity and contained by slightly chalky tannins.

Deep garnet with purple hue. Nose of blueberry, blackberry, dark cherry, and hints of tobacco and moca. Tastes of blueberry, blackberry, dark chocolate, and hint of tobacco. At first had a grapey flavor and was slightly astringent. After a couple hours of aeration it opened up nicely, the tannins integrated, and it drank well. Well made Portuguese reds often age well and this seemed to be in that category. Nice value, but you need to either decant 2+ hours or age another 5-8 years. Should drink well for another 5-10 years after it hits the drinking window.

Tasted at the Quinta, floral and violets and black liquorice. Bottled three weeks ago, ready now, good intensity of fruit, tannins still pronounced tannins as you'd expect from a young wine like this, but very drinkable now. Score reflects now, not its potential.
