Very nice nose of forest floor and musty cherry skins. Took some decant time to shine. Quite a sweet cherry and stony entry. Nice mid-weight. Quite spicy finish for a Pinot Noir. Tannins still ever present with an appropriate, well-balanced acidity.

Not sure how I feel about this...drank over few nights over a few weeks using pp...while not the best version of this producer, the wine almost seemed better in the last glass than the 1st...pedestrian Pinot...

I drink a reasonable amount of burg and that is the natural comparative here...I find this Spat lighter in mouthfeel, warm and inviting nose, with an earthiness that takes some time to open, harvesting its fruit...I saved half btl to try again soon...Not sure this is a long term cellar wine.

An open nose, full of pinot promise, touch of barnyard, leather and spice with judicious amount of oak. Juicy full palate, finishes a little short. Probably fully evolved now. In the light of 2015-2016 Burgundy prices, quite good value.

A rather expressive and elegant nose introduces a somewhat diluted and thin palate. Disappointing, as it feels as though this bottle might have been rather promising had it's depth been a notch above. A miss.
