42nd Annual Zinfandel Retrospective - the 2015s (R&D's): Blind. Another that is quite herbaceous, along with black raspberry, clay and boysenberry aromas. White currant, cherry and pepper notes emerge with air. Full-bodied, spicy and rich, with loads of peppery zin fruit. (R&D)

Medium light bodied. Taste has cinnamon and spices. Orange. Some tartness. Some acidity. Long finish. Medium dry. Nice and balanced with fruity flavors.

Celebrated New Year's Day by smoking some baby back ribs to pair with this and a 2014 Turley Zin Hemingway from Napa and I preferred this. Seemed less syrupy/jammy, but it wasn't too focused of a tasting as the ribs were the star. Both wines were good, but I enjoyed this more both with food and without.

Super great a couple days after opening. Much less tart, well rounded, balanced.
