In OC with Dad, last bottle from a stash I bought at release. This has been a great wine, fun to see its evolution over the years. PnP, drank over 2 hours.
From prior notes::Color is fading a shade. Red fruits, earth, burnt sugar on the nose. Dark fruits, dusted blackberry, chocolate, licorice, tobacco. Medium weight, tannins sweet and resolved. Interesting mid palate, get some sweetness along with an anise in mid palate and finish."
This is still going strong, black fruits, blackberry, smoke, spice and licorice. Rich and layered mid/back palate...just great....I thought this would be on the downside by now. Well stored bottles should still be good over coming 5 years...sadly, no more in my cellar

Splash decanted first night, drank this at home after a Stag's Leap SLV
Better than I remeber last bottle, but aging nicely. Color is fading a shade. Red fruits, earth, burnt sugar on the nose. Dark fruits, dusted blackberry, chocolate, licorice, tobacco. Medium weight, tannins sweet and resolved. Interesting mid palate, get some sweetness along with an anise in mid palate and finish.
This has aged nicely, based on this bottle it has a few more years but in a very good spot right now. I doubt this improves much - would drink over next 3 years.
PS - holding up nicely on day 2

What a nice bottle of wine. Aging beautifully. Slight carameling in color, fruit, alcohol and dust on the nose, smooth and elegant stewed cherries. Tannins are still present, but poised and sophisticated. Barely any sediment. This bad boy will continue to age well for at least another 4-5 years.

This bottle aged to be a beauty- silky, on the sweet side, licorice, chocolate, tobaccos, exhibiting its age every nicely. Wish I had left a few more to try in another year. CT needs suggest a lot of bottle variation or impact of storage? Ours live in the dark at 56 degrees and my own notes show inconsistency.

The fruitiness is outlasting the tannins somewhat so first impression was not that favorable - we let it sit for an hour and then paired with porterhouse and enjoyed. A very good cab but nothing unique. Not getting better and so time to drink up

Take me out to the Ballgame; 4/7/2012-4/9/2012 (Anwar and Trigirls Home): Opened blind by Anwar next to a 2001 Bordeaux. This was my favorite red of the night. Very lively for a 2001 Napa Cab. Rich texture and loaded with fruit. Medium to full bodied. Deep berry, currant and tobacco notes. The best Napa Cab I've had in the last 5 years. 93 points.

This wine started off like you may expect. Secondary boquet notes of tobacco, leather, anise, black current. Not showing any signs of age, it was dark and a bit lively. Tannins were dusty and a little too present but after 4 hours, this wine was perfection. Tannins relaxed, fruit jumped forward and the finish was long and lingering. Sediment wasn't bothersome. I wish I had another bottle - just let this wine open up for 3-4 hours before enjoying.

None of us were too impressed with this bottle of the Arns. We decanted for about 3 hours before jumping in. Inky purple in the glass with a nose of brown sugar and pie crust. A ton of sweet plum, dark cherry and more sweet confections on the palate, but then...nothing. It just kind of fell off after the upfront sweetness. Lacked any depth or character beyond the initial fruit. Tried to coax it along over the course of the night, but it was rather one-dimensional.

Not sure if it wasn't a touch cork affected. Ok, not stunning. Drink up. HAve had many times and liked it more previously.

Only gave this about 30 minutes to open, may not be the best comparison to other notes.
Dark fruits, leathery nose. Rich wine with a 20+ second finish. Will let other bottles decant longer
