Getrunken an Silvester 20/21. Blindverkostet. Ganz grosser Riesling.

  • Carambola, honey, citrus on nose. Flint and mouth watering acidity with great complexity. Very expect the other bottle after a couple years of development.

  • Slow ox'd one hour prior to serving--needs the air at this stage. Citrus, floral, honey nose, with hints of cream. On the palate much of the same, with lemon and a bit of a mandarin orange tang. Bit of spice as it warms up. Honeysuckle on the mid palate, gives way to a zing if acidity and finally a long, yogurt finish. Nice and complex but lacking a bit of energy. Needs that riesling vibrato but not sure that will emerge with time.

  • Ran across this at a wine tasting and it stopped me dead in my tracks. One of the best Rieslings I have had in a long time .... maybe only the Clos Ste. Hune was better.
I prefer my Rieslings on the drier side ..... say 2g/L to maybe up to 50g/L max. ......

A trocken Riesling. What a beautiful wine. Completely blew me away with it complexity and purity. In one word … elegant. This could age for a long time. Young but drinking well. Great acidity and overall balance.
Beautiful aromatics ….. crushed stone, flinty, lemon, peaches and apricots. Wonderful floral element. Very gentle and seductive.
Smooth and round on the palate. Just floats across your mouth and slowly unfolds all its wonderful flavours ….. Peaches, grapefruit, nectarines, myer lemons. A really nice gentle tartness follows the fruit flavours. Slight drying from tannins. Wonderful minerality that ends with a trailing touch of saltiness. Some creaminess/chalkiness to the Riesling to give it some body. Amazing.

  • Pnp.
Nose: lemon, floral, mineral , white flower.
Palate : dry, medium bodied, strong acidity backbone , mineral finished , nice clean lemon/peach intermixed with mineral.
Nose better than palate. can age for a few years more to gain complexity

  • Très floral avec un petit goût de zeste de citron,il y a de la pomme rouge pas poqué ? (oui oui), encore un peu de frizzante à l'ouverture.Ça goute le sucre des fruits.Un petit de Ultramar aussi.Très long.

  • Good and smooth, however, have had better Riesling GGs.

  • Rudi Wiest Tasting (Republique Los Angeles): In contrast to the Kastanienbusch, I felt this showed more citrus and citrus flower on the nose. This also seemed to show a bit of CO2. This was done in stainless.

  • While most of the "Im Sonnenschein" vineyard sits on chalky soil, it is sandstone, clay and gravel that dominate the Ganshorn or "Ganz Horn" parcel. Exotic fruit, floral, open, generous on the nose. On the palate fresh and bright. Slightly mineral, again generous and open fruit, Fine length. Excellent 91-92+
