Expressive bouquet with black olives, balsamic acid and rustic impressions. On the palate a full bodied wine with dark berries, cassis, beautiful and juicy acidity and a firm amount of sweetness.

It’s been five plus years since I last enjoyed this label. Structure is still very prominent but far less obtrusive than it was back in 2017. Ripe black and red fruits provide balance to the developing structure. Big finish. Great with hearty food.

Color: Deep opaque red, hints of purple. Nose: Blackberry, blueberry, spice, oak. Medium+ Body, Medium Acid. I actually think this is drinking pretty well right now. Aerated straight from the bottle. Lush fruit upfront, blackberries, anise, oak, hibiscus. Tannins still have some grip, with a bit of acid on the follow. I think it will be better in another 2/3 years, but it's drinking perfectly fine now.

At 7 years I was hoping the heat would have mellowed by now but it was still a touch too hot for my liking. Nice dark fruit with classic chocolate and chewy-ness but this was a little disappointing. But with expectations discounted this was still very good.

Followed for about five hours open, but very little change after the first hour. Opaque purple color, no sediment, and very slow legs. Medium intensity nose of red berry and spice, a little garrigue. Smells like Syrah and tastes like a Rhône blend. Not a bad wine but it’s really hot, and imho doesn’t properly show varietal characteristics. A little disappointing given the reputation of the winemaker, though perhaps this is the Rolland style, I don’t know. but I’ll likely be giving away my other bottles. Even at this daily drinker price, there’s other wines I’d rather drink. 4+10+15+7= 86

Fully opaque violet. Aromas of dark berries, violets, dusty cedar, and hints of game. Surprisingly structured for Malbec with prominent gritty, tannins and acid as well as 14.6% alcohol. Made by Michel Rolland.

Whoa....this is a full throttled Malbec! Still too young currently and absolutely requires both decanting and big red meat if you try. Big, dark, fullbodied, gritty, and tannic. Good aromas initially, but it took almost an hour in the decanter for this beast to start settling down. Ginormous mouthfeel with juicy flavors of black cherry, very dark berries, toasty vanilla, black pepper, espresso, and an emerging herbal streak, all wrapped around a highly structured core. Chewy tannin, oak, and acid all still in play which set up a long dry finish. Improves throughout the night, but I'd give this another 1-2 years to develop....this should be excellent and will improve longer term.

Blackberry fruit, with licorice, charcoal and oak. Tannins still present with some acid on the finish.

Red and black fruits, spice, tart acidity and strong tannins. I believe it will improve with another couple of years in the cellar.

Pleasant to have a leathery earthy malbec with ripe fruit on the finish
Firm tannins, good structure, that will repay another 12 months in bottle
