Cork saturated two thirds of the way. Purplish red in color. Very similar to a young Pinot noir in color and consistency. Nose of flowers and maple syrup with some hints of forest floor and cedar. Flavor of red fruits, cherry and dried cranberries. Medium finish. Interesting wine 89-91pts

- Medium forming legs. It's balanced with a medium/full body. Round texture with a medium finish - Deep purple with a slight brownish core fading to a purple rim. Smoke, black cherry, currant with a slight herbaceous nose. Strong flavors of cherry, oak, smoke with deep rich tannins. Unlike the last bottle I opened, this one was surprisingly delicious with a long finish. Quite surprised.

- Crimsom color and aromas of raspberry, black pepper and cherry. It's lacking fruit and has flavours of black currant, blackberry, mushroom and smokey with a light/medium body. Linear texture with a medium finish.

Right off the bat, I thought the De Dotto was flat undrinkable. A austere harsh finish that led me to believe that it massively defective. I set it aside and grabbed another bottle. Three hours later, a bit change. The nose blossomed and emerged, with dark rich textured fruit. Some clear brett on the nose. Unfortunately, it doesn’t follow through. A pretty disjointed finish, which trails in a slightly unpleasant “artificial” taste. I’m still wondering if this was an off bottle. Make sure you give this plenty of air up front.

Not completely past its prime. Could have been more a couple of years earlier.
