At the end of drinking window but still quite good. Nose of smoke, red apple, cherries. Taste to match with medium tannin and smooth but not exceptionally long finish.

Cabin Wines in Winter; 10/17/2018-10/19/2018: Day 1: This is really good for the money. Fruit forward with Bing cherries, plums and blueberries. Also features dust, dried herbs and mint. Medium finish. This is the second wine on a week I have rated the same or higher than James Suckling. They even have the suckling 90 point score.

PnP let a couple of ounces air in the glass for 1hr. Medium clear garnet from core to rim. Cherry sassafras touch of herbs in the nose. Medium(-) weight with crunchy cherry skin tannins. Bright cherry raspberry cola touch of rosemary and Parmasen rind on the palate. Thin in the middle short on the finish. Nice Monday night Chianti. Suckling gave it a 90 and typically he is 3pts too generous in my experience.

Smoother than many. Versatile. Even went ok with Mediterranean swordfish! Probably lacks some of the fruitiness that Gabbiano, DaVinci, etc. have, but a good value at $8 or below. I'll buy a few more.

Surprised by this wine in a pleasant way. Much smoother and refined than anticipated. I picked this wine up on clearance at Kroger for 2.49 wish I would have bought more than 2 bottles. Drink now I do not see this wine improving with anymore age.

Opened this bottle 25 mins prior to tasting. Dark fruit, red cherry with a bit of spice and vanilla tones. Smooth finish, very pleasant. Typical chiantis you must pair with food because of the acid. This wine is more balanced making it more versatile. Great price v quality ratio

Does not exhibit very much of the mineral earthy characteristic we expect from Chianti. Even the fruit is a little generic, missing the expected maraschino cherry and leaning more toward strawberry. Probably a bit sweet. Somewhat manipulated and manufactured. Sweetish finish.

Cheap but not worth it. Initial taste is not unpleasant, I'd say standard Sangiovese qualities, but just not much "there" there. No body or finish to speak of. It's not intolerable like some "two-buck" domestic wines, but, even for $5 or so, you can probably do better.
The description on the label "with a long, soft, smooth finish" makes me wonder what the Marketing guys were trying to pull. By "soft" and "smooth" I think they mean "imperceptible" and the "long" means you can keep trying for a "long time" but still not detect it.

Carmelized sugar, earthy fruit, and leather shows on the nose. The palate lacks complexity but still has nice flavor. Great value at $10.

nose: a little burnt but clearly chianti; palette: light chianti with a lot of oak, might smooth out over time.

nose: a little fruit and maybe a hint of oak; palette, fairly strong oak with a flat fruit and an almost lightly oaky finish

More of a generic red than a Chianti. Sharp in stead of round, and no fruit to speak of.
