Lively palate, expressive nose, and a long, enjoyable finish. Cranberry, candied fruit, spice, and floral notes. On the sweet side but it made a perfect accompaniment to a garlicky pernil asado. Good value at $14. Drink now.

Coravined. Pale pretty Burgundy (color). Seemingly muted upon pop-and-pour opening, delicate cherry and cherry cola notes. Tasted after a '15 Elk Cove Five Mountain that had a ton more power so this elegant, sweetly-fruited offering suffered. Days 2 and 3 from the Coravin, this was lovely and surprisingly long. An unbelievable bargain at $14 from Garagiste! Drink now.

Earth, bark, slight cough syrup medicine in the nose. Sweet over ripe mid palate. Finishes way too soft and sweet for my tastes. Not enjoyable to me. Maybe would come across better with food that was sweetened with berry type sauces.

I’ve enjoyed a number of these Angela Pinot Noirs over numerous vintages. All are solid, but none rise to the level of a Premier Cru Burgundy, maybe a decent level “AOC Village or Regional Level Bourgogne”. Lots of ripe fruits, and offsetting acidity, but lacking deep complexity. Enjoyable at seven years but not very intriguing or compelling.
I’m always hoping for more depth and substance with these Angelas but I haven’t found it yet … they’re always good but never excellent. Maybe the next one up will be!

Pop and pour yesterday, on the counter unrefrigerated overnight. Very good for a 2014 OR PN, many of which I've found overripe and frankly blowsy...On the nose: dark red and black fruit, soft VA, cola. On the palate: good acid, loads of spice, very soft tannin on the spicy finish.

MNB: Ungrafted I (Ungrafted, SF): (blind) Medium minus ruby color. Super sawdusty oak (50% new French? - actually 30%, but it seems to show it prominently). Red ripe cherry, hint of whole berry. 14% alcohol (correct 14.1%), medium plus acid (TA: 5.7 g/L, pH 3.75)
Seems like a pretty classic Sonoma Pinot - right down the middle. Ok quality level. A bit oaky but light, but ok.
Final call: 2016 Sonoma Pinot, RRV, $40 Actual: angela OR RN yamhill-carlton OR 2014, $50
Analysis: OR should have been on the lateral list given the lighter concentration of fruit. The prominent oak might have taken me away from OR, but overall I think this is a pretty good example.

Tasted after 1 hour of air. Light cranberry. Some spice. Not much mid palate. Medium short finish. Ok. Drink up.
Tasted again on day 2. More funk on this. Sour. Some fruit. A bit wonky. Meh. Downgrading to 84 points. I would drink these up.

Old. Tired. Not good.
Color. Brick red.
Nose. High alcohol, prunes, and raisins.
Palate. Mushy fruits. No tannins.

Loads of red and black cherry fruit on this, sweet and tasty with a great finish. Drinking very nicely.

Needs decanting. Much better after 2 hours. Dark fruit and somewhat ripe on the palate.

Eh... a fine Pinot. A little sweet, a little nondescript. I’ve had better from Angela.
