This! Dark color with medium viscosity. Nose of cedar/oak. Spice. Dark fruit that is perfect with Roast Pork, White Beans & and Herbed Rice. Dinking lovely now and for a few years to come.

Drank at Shakespeare in the park - so it was PnP, no air. Very good out of the bottle, but really improved with an hour or so of air. Great balance of fruit, spice, with low acidity. LOVED it - excellent value for the price.

Similar to my notes from my 2017 bottle--balance of bright fruit and a tannic core. Wished I left it open or decanted, as it got better with each pour from the bottle.

I really want to like this wine, but it just doesn't have enough rounded fruit and falls off a bit. I've cellared six bottles and drink one every six months, nothing resonating with me...unfortunately.

I contender but not a champ. A solid everyday wine which worked well for us with a vegetable/bacon soup. Nice smooth finish with hints of raspberry and chocolate. Buy this wine and enjoy when at home watching TV.

Flavors seem to be melding better. There is still substantial alcohol on the palate. Ripe red and black fruits, rounded out with baking spices. Pepper and kind of stemmy on finish. It’s a big wine but the tannins are o. The lighter side. It’s more enjoyable tonight but I’m not a huge fan. Drinkable but wouldn’t go out of my way for this one again.
———————————————————— Appearance - clear, medium plus ruby, clear rim
Nose - ripe red and black fruits. Cherries, bing cherries. Dark chocolate. Vanilla, youthful, cinnamon, hazelnut, almond. Some nose burn (alcohol). 15% abv. Not a shocker.
Palate - sweet ripe fruit. Youthful for sure. This is a big wine. Not sure I would say fruit bomb but a bit in your face. It’s too early to be drinking this one for sure. Fruit is pronounced. Alcohol is noticeable. Tannins are medium. Acidity is medium. Finish is medium plus to long. Medium body. It hasn’t come together yet, for my tastes. I find the juice to be a bit too sweet. While there is black pepper on finish, there is a level of sweetness to the way the fruit tastes that to me is off. When I first took out the cork I smelled a sour cherry, but that blew off fast. Drinking on its own I don’t love. Maybe with food it would be different. At the moment, I’m getting sweetened cherry cranberry juice. An alcoholic version of course. If there is a difference between ripe and sweet, this is sweet. Candied. To steal from prior notes, balsamic vinegar yes. If tasting blind, I might guess petit Syrah over zin.
I know it is still young but as far as I’m concerned, right now, it is a little too sweet for my tastes, and probably not a Zin I would buy again.
However, maybe it was the vintage vs the producer based upon other reviews?

Did NOT play as well as last time. Green pepper in the nose and didn't present well. It did, however, taste good, with nice acidity, generous mouthfeel and plenty of dancing on the back palette.

Drank over 2 nights. Far worse on day 2. Purple in color. The nose has dark cherries and spice. On the palate, this is nice. Some dark cherries. A bit of chewiness to it. Good acidity. Pleasant if not outstanding. Fell apart on Day 2 which leads me to believe these should be drunk sooner than later. This was around $33 which is a bit disappointing.

Won't rate, since this is still young. But shows a lot of promise - a medium-big wine, but balanced with fruit, spice, a bit of meatiness. Not a flabby fruit bomb, nor a lean weakling that tries to hide its Zinfandelness. Needs another year to loosen up and come into its own - say early '18.

Giant Wine Sale & Tasting 5/6/2017 (Cellar on Greene, Columbia, SC): Ehren Jordan has created a throwback Zin that has balance and character rather than being a fruit bomb. Has a really aromatic nose that practically leaps from the glass while being poured. The palate is a little more subdued, and probably in it's "dumb" stage at this point in time, and could actually use a decant. One of the tell tail signs we are drinking this too young is a more prominent acid profile than typical. All kinds of spicy, peppered red and dark fruit that in a disciplined manner maintains it's delicate elegance. Not big on oak. Just inspired wine making and quality grape growing.

N: RIPE, QUITE jammy (berries at least currently atop smoke)
P: MF, poss Med, body; Almost definite R.S. braced by acidity, which BECOMES puckery, this SLOWLY resolving into a LONG, tangy, VERY slightly, finely tannic finish. Very nicely done in its style, for most this NEEDS into mid (if not all the way through) '18, then drinking for the ff yr or 2. (With the suspected R.S., I *don't* see this making "old bones".) 92 pts WS, 89 Vinous, & 88 RJonWine. [Tasted @ $22.95, though, if anything, this vendor is now likely selling the '16. However, July 2018's wine-searcher DOES show ~10 sources ranging from $24-$35.]

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. It smells like blackberry, blueberry, medium toast and oak. It tastes like black currant (cassis), strawberry jam and cinnamon. The body is medium/full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes long.

Some fruit bombs are thrown by terrorists. Others are meant to explode on the scene and remind us how bold and bodacious American wine can be - without causing collateral damage. Full-throated and uncompromising, this Zin had all the requisite spicy fruit and stand-up-straight backbone to take on my Cuban-style Turkey and cornbread/chorizo stuffing on Thanksgiving. We'd worked our way from Mr. Jordan's Occidental Ridge Pinot, and it was a fine ride. Drink up, it's a new Day.
Ehren Jordan making Zin again. Hurrah! Tastes nothing like any Turley Zin I've had. Way too young to drink but I did anyway. At this stage I would have guessed it was a Petite Syrah. Also has a lot of Carlisle flavor profiles which is always a good thing in my book. If you can find it, buy it.
