Gereiftes Gelb-Orange.

A little too oxydative for my taste, low acidity, dark colour, shouldn’t be that old that fast.

Mostly CDP dinner (The Capital Grille at Tysons corner, VA): Slightly subdued nose displaying very ripe concentrated dry yellow fruit, apricot, dry peach, mango, caramel, honey and sweet spices. Exceptional concentration, slightly coiled concentrated ripe yellow fruit, 10W40, rich, deeply toned, medium acidity and mineral. This is incredibly ripe, dense and rich. For my palate, a bit heavy and cloying.

Decanted and continue to improve for 3 hours until finished. Rich, dense, ripe fruit, honey comb and minerals. Needs bottle time to bring out the locked complexity and acidity. Hold

Not rating this because maybe I was not in the right frame of mind tonight (too much work stress). The wine displayed a smooth and rich texture but seemed fairly one dimensional. OK, that dimension had some stone fruit, flowers, and almonds, but not much tension or excitement. Nothing to wake the palate up and say “what about this.”

Excellent. Unusual without being weird: a really pure wine. Started out good right out of the bottle, and grew more complex with time. Baked pineapple, honey, stone fruits including peaches and apricots, and a bit of spice on a long finish.

Outstanding right on PnP and continues to improve 3-5 hours after decant. Gorgeous deep gold with generous nose of honey, apricot, white flowers, and brioche. Oily texture, nicely balanced, with abundant citrus and stone fruit, complex, interesting, and I wish I had more than 1 bottle. Unlike another reviewer I found the wine lessening on days 2 and 3.

Intronization into Rhone (Riverpark): Man I love this wine. It's the white wine that can make you a believer. Powerful and elegant at the same time. Lots of honeycomb and delicate white flowers and springtime. Wonderful freshness.

Q3 - 2018 Tasting - Whites - “ABC” Anything but Chardonnay (New York, NY): 3/18 white wines tasted double blind. Color is golden. On the palate this is quite waxy and unctuous, nuts and honey with an incredibly long finish. My notes indicate WOW!! No surprise given that I love the Beaucastel Roussanne VV and white Rhone in general - but I really had not guess on this.

Anything But (still) Chardonnay - ABC wines | Q3 Wine Club (The Apt): Wine #3: Lightly sweet. Some beeswax and more of that mouthful characteristic, but here I also get a bit more acidity than I typically associate with this wine. It's lots of honey and honeysuckle. Tasty. (5 pennies)
Dinner with Beaucastel (Chez moi): In the beginning this accents the garrigue and minerality, very much the Rhône-quality, unlike the 2016, this very much gains weight and on day 3 after opening it is really showing off; minerals, precise acidity, citrus – and great length. Grand Vin. 95+

The most “southern” of the trio of 14, 15 and 16 VV, full-on wine, rich, with marks of tropical fruit, fennel, garrigue and a hint of lemon. There’s a superb mineral backbone adding to the complexity here. Niels says this is even better on day 3. A great VV and one to cellar for the ages. Beaucastel evening chez Lillelunds.

The nose blasts off with white peach, honeydew, flowers, licorice, crushed rocks and fresh herbs. Concentrated, deep, long and with real sticking power, this is going to be worth the wait, as it will take time to develop.

Light gold in colour; nose of pithy mango, flowers and grapefruit; pfn with pith and butter; medium plus finish with notes of sweet grapefruit; medium plus mouthfeel; well balanced; vines planted in 1909; lovely wine, but pricey; we liked the blanc better

spicy nose, pineapple, greasy, mineral, very long and complex, still very young with some bitterness, a lot of matter, the overripe harvest shows, a lot of potential but for the moment 91+

Agree with comments below: a future great wine. Pine apple, herbs, surprisingly fresh nose, medium intense yellow colour. In the mouth the same, some banana and pear, and the mouthfeel is very fat, thick and buttery. Very complex, long and a bitter component to round things off. Will improve with time, so 92+ for the moment, but initially this was very difficult to score.

Decanted it for approximately 4-5 hours before serving. Also served it too warm at first. Placed it in the fridge and retasted it a little bit later.
- colour: golden yellow colour and quite greasy in the glass - nose: intense nose. Spicy, fresh and grapefruit After whirling: citrus and pineapple. After cooling: additional hints of banana and pear - palate: soft start. Low acidity. Greasy mouthfeeling with mineral hints, grapefruit, citrus, pineapple, honey, marzipan and a bitter finish. After cooling additional hints of banana and passion fruit.
A delicious white wine that needs to be served a cooler temperature (+/- 10° C). Wine is more complex and fruity then when it is served too warm.

Grand vin in the making. Provocative wine, full and rich with with exotic fruits in all sorts of nuances supported by a great underlying minerality. Delicious now but will a whole different animal in 10 and 20 years. At home with the boys.

Boys at PB (Charlottenlund): Grand Vin. Big, rich, smooth, creamy with some exotuc fruit galore. Unashamed, bold, even, and while it is pure joy as of now, it will gain complexity and minerality. 96+ point
