From 75cl, spongey cork wet-to-rotten half way back. Despite the non-functional closure (try using screwcap? Mais non! Zut alors!! Tradition!!!) this dark yellow to orange wine amazingly showed some residual quality, in a very oxidised kind of way. But not enough to prevent me despairing yet again at the failure of so many producers in southern France to get their (not only, but especially, white) wines to the consumer in drinkable condition. Fortunately for me (and unfortunately for the likes of Château La Baronne) there is Spain, yes, almost all of it, where it is even hotter than in La Belle France (duh) but despite that somehow the more clued-up producers seem to have sorted out their issues with heat, closures, oxidation, spoilage risk and their supply chain. NR

Very complex wine with notes of peaches and licorice. Unfortunately a bit too oxydized on the nose, which does prevent the grape variety to show its full potential. Drink now

complexe neus, zeer lange afdronk. zeer licht oxidatief, prachtig amber kleur, heel frisse zuren, duidelijk rijp steenfruit.
