Subtle oak and sous-bois on the nose. Medium bodied, smooth, acidic, firm tannins, showing tart dark cherries with a kiss of oak and earthy notes. Solid chianti. Had a glass from an opened bottle at Birrificio with the food.

Viticcio: Light purple color. Plum, black cherry aromas with roasted herbs and tobacco. Medium-bodied, balanced across the board with dusty tannins, medium acidity, tart red currants and berry compote. Notes of bay leaf, tobacco barn, scorched earth, some violets. Ready to drink but could hold for a few years.

Aromas of dried cherries and flowers follow through to a medium to full body with fine tannins and a fresh finish. Nice creamy acidity.
