This is such high quality juice for the money. Slightly darker in fruit profile (dark cherry, spiced black raspberry if that's a thing) than the 2013. I would describe this vintage as slightly more "serious" and the 2013 as more "fun." Perfectly poised and bright in the palate, but with weight and depth belying its price. Wish I had loaded up. No need to hold - drink now.
Medium dark ruby red. Nose of spiced cherry liquor, backed by sagebrush, trace of plum, very easy oak treatment. Taste is lush, more cherry compote and spice, but with energy and tension. Comes across a bit sweet, fruit over already mild tannins. But noticeably lush above common GSM. High QPR, less savory than past years in a good way.

If you like sweet wines with a cherry flavor this is for you and not me. Has a polished texture and is ready to go now. Uncorked it for 90 minutes prior, that worked fine. Should be a favorite of new or younger wine drinkers that like 'em sweet. Btw, 86 still comes in as VG on the scale.

Dark ruby with some cherry and cranberry nose. Dry chewy tannins with some light bitter, medium bold fruit and body, ripe cherries, needs more time to mello and smooth out the primary flavors on night one.

Medium+ concentration, darker fruit profile. Nice balance. Drinking very well and likely OK holding for a few years.

Drinking very well. Tannins have mellowed nicely while maintaining vibrant fruit.

First VdP of the season. A little less funky than the 2013 and a little more balanced. I think the Grenache is a bit more front and center.
