Big, bold and beautiful McLaren Vale Shiraz. Deep red but not opaque, very full intense dark berry flavour and generously oaked. There’s probably room to develop still, has yet to even touch the sides, but is complex, smooth, and exceedingly drinkable.

Probably drank these too early. Good McLaren Vale fruit. Dark berries, dark chocolate, smooth tannins, a light line of acid. Good mouthfeel and length, will likely go another 5 plus years but drinking very nicely now.

Moncur Syrah/Shiraz (Bistro Moncur, Sydney): slightly confected ripe fruit, far riper on the palate, savoury but with plain chocolate, juicy and fleshy very slight wild ferment. Drying but fleshy tannins. Hmm.

It's like it's emerged into adulthood, with some secondary flavours coming through. Some additional complexity
