Yellow-gold. Nose of asian pear, candied orange peel, honey and white stone fruit. Apricot and white plum flavors with orange and a honeysuckle finish. Drinking very, very well with years left, I think.

light straw color with moderate legs. honey citrus zest nose with hints of mango and white flowers. similar in the mouth with white stone fruit. many notes say it's "not cloying," and I agree. Drinking well.

Best bottle of this so far. This one showed morehoneyed exotic fruits including mangoes an passion fruit. Long, balanced and not cloying. Great bottle. No rush.

Honeyed Fuji apples, baking spice. Some interesting citrus oil notes have crept into this. Sweet but not cloying. The acidity level has dropped a bit, so this is not as good as it once was. Slowly sliding down the downside of its aging curve.

A private dinner at a friend's (Waver, Ouder-Amstel, NL): Half bottle. Fully mature, off dry, linen and chamomile, hints of tropical fruit, touch of honey, citrus and freshness, good intensity and length. Has held up very well, but not really remarkable.

Fresh and balanced. No goopy/syrupy affair here. Yellow plums, quince, apricot, subtle camomile/linden flower in the background. Could be more complex but it is a delightful wine and in no danger of falling off the age cliff.

Subtle gold in color. Notes of honey, flowers and apricot. Flavors of honey and apple. Seemed to lack the body noted in other vintages, but still quite nice.

I'm not sure what it is about 2000, but this is not what I hope for from a Baumard QdC. Rich, creamy, ripe stone fruit and brown sugar, without the bracing acidity.

Fairly pronounced nose of honey, baked apple, quince, and some flowers and spice. When first opened, this seemed fairly unbalanced, with honeyed sweetness dominating the palate, and acid coming in for the finish. An hour later, it showed better integration, but still short of my (admittedly, very high) expectations for Baumard QdC. The menagerie of aromas and flavors is there, but they never quite meld into a cohesive elixir.

WineFanatic Champagne Offline (Vancouver, BC): Tasted blind – from 375ml. No formal notes. Medium gold colour, looking older than a 2000. Sweet nose oxidized apples and honey with decent acidity. This bottle is drinking well right now. Excellent.

Perhaps personal preference, but I would take Sauternes and Beerenauslese before this anyday. Not bad, but not that deep. It was OK, but as said - other options are superior.

Town Mtn (Asheville, NC): Subtle, infused tangerine, white flowers, paraffin, honey, fresh and dried apricot. Quite well balanced across the palate, if not as concentrated as anticipated.

That's what I am talking about. Purchased from the same winebid lot as the bottle tasted last month, which was not good. This is what I come to expect from Baumard. Sweetness and acidity in balance. Wonderfull CB flavors.

Northern NJ/NY Offline (Cafe Monet - Millburn, NJ): Fantastic nose of apricot, creme brulee, herbs, and minerals. In classic Baumard fashion, the palate is dense but light on its feet...finding that perfect combination of power and elegance. Subtle vanilla on the palate with great slate, honeyed fruits and wonderful white florals. It's hard to imagine ever growing tired of wines like this.

For someone who is more accoustomed to Sauternes, this is a thought provoking wine. When I asked my wife what her impression was she had to pause and think about it, In many ways it was different than anything else she had ever tried before. She knew it wasn't Sauterne but it did have a certain level of sweetness but that also bordered on tart. The citrus nose masked the roundness of the pleasantly balance palate. When you combine the overall balance of this wine with the subtle degree of sweetness and texture it is a very, very nice wine. Now where do I get more?!!

Was looking forward to this one based on the notes below. Unfortunately, this lacked balance and had an unpleasant taste. Possible a flawed bottle. Purchased off winebid. Will wait a while to try the other bottle.

From a 375. Probably my favorite dessert wine. Always sweet without being cloying. Plenty of mouthwatering, palate cleansing acidity. Rich apple, pear fruits. Was a big hit even with drinkers who normally are not fans of dessert wines.

Glorious juice. Honey on the nose, crisp acidity and bright minerality in harmony with rich, lush tropical fruits. Sophisticated stuff. A perfect paring with a Zingermans apple pie and home made ice cream.

This has been a curiously flawed bottle; there was a persistent woodiness on the nose and palate which wasn't as horrendous as all of the other TCA tainted bottle that I've experienced, but was disjointed and unbalanced. I honestly suspect that this flawed bottle was the result of a storage/transportation issue as I've had to returned an entire lot of "baked" bottles of Faugeres (consistent notes from several bottles) from the same vintage and producer that I've come to appreciate.

We tasted this one against a south american Late Harvest (from Concha y Toro) and what a beating this one gave. It was a clear new world x old world style and it was not fair to compare these two. The Late harvest was very monolythic, one dimensional wine, passion fruit and honey on the nose, nice body but not enough acidity and a creamy finish. The Quarts is very complex on the nose, much more elegant, a perfect balance on the mouth, very complex aftertaste and multi-dimensional. An outstanding wine to say the least.

This was one of the most enjoyable wines I've ever had; not a moment over the hill. A honey suckle, touch of oxidation. Truly awesome.

Very deft and lively for an older dessert wine. Not as sweet as a Sauternes, but still sweet. Lemon, custard, and caramel notes. Still showing life.
